The lack of leadership is right on the roster list (Years Experience)

I will say, simply being a veteran doesn't make you a leader but if you sort our roster by NFL experience, holy hell is it telling.

Our most senior vets:

1. Cam Newton - 11 years (mid season pickup who we unceremoniously kicked to the curb.  We were left needing to bring him back because we suck)

2. Patrick Omameh - 9 years (who the f*ck is this?)

3. Matt Barkley - 9 years (mid season pickup, trash journeyman with a big arm)

4. Willie Snead - 7 years (mid season pickup, journeyman WR)

5. Matt Paradis - 7 years (Riding out his final year into the sunset on his absolutely average play and average salary for a starting C)

6. Ameer Abdullah - 7 years (mid season pickup due to injury, dropped by the Lions)

Other 7 years: Cam Erving & John Miller...puke

So there's our senior crew.  Our esteemed veterans the young guys can learn from.

Pretty great right?

Thanks Rhule.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. The primary issue in this regard isn't the player roster.

Do the same thing with the coaches and their years of NFL experience and I think you'll find the root of the problem.

I think it’s a problem with that considered. If I’m a green coach, with a green OC, I’m getting a few vets that at least know what they’re doing.

    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
