Compare him to his peers.

He's way worse than Brady Rogers Breese

Roethlisberger Rivers Manning those guys are all eons better than him.

Then Wilson Palmer Carr Stafford Eli Ryan Probably Luck were all better than him.

I mean during his run he just wasn't that good compared to the other QBs in the league.

Not HOF material.

Players aren't evaluated by one dimensional contributions. Cam's rushing TDs are a unique aspect of his game; if it was so easy to replicate that we wouldnt have had so much trouble in short yardage without him.  I think there's an argument to be made Cam could make the HOF but injuries derailed that rather than his passing numbers during his prime.  He still may make it.

As a side note, the fact you put Russell Wilson so low down your list is a bit odd given hes put up numerous 4k yard / 35+ total TD seasons.  He is significantly better than the tier of players you put him near IMO and at worst in the second set if not often in conversation with Rodgers, Breese.

I think Russ is heads and shoulders better than Cam.

That list isn't in order just who popped into my head when I was at a Red Light. There have been many days I wished we had waited a year and took Russ

I think Russ played on significantly better teams.    He played with a historic defense.   I mean, if Cam played with the LOB?

Russ wouldn’t of had the same success here.

@Catsfan69

why are you ramming your opinion to every single comment on this thread?

It’s purpose was to highlight how stealthily high Cam has crept on some significant leaderboards for the QB position.

You might fee he’s not hall of fame worthy, fine, but his statistics push him into the conversation without a doubt.

he’s a couple of TD away from Steve Young…

Putting that debate aside how about just celebrating his achievements

Maybe.

I just think when it comes down to Championship or no Championship you need a QB that can win with his arm and make great throws in crunch time.

Russ is Duel threat weighted towards throwing.

Mahomes is also Weighted towards throwing.

Young again duel threat weighted towards throwing.

I can't remember a QB winning a Superbowl who was weighted towards running. Of course I could be mistaken.

Because I am sick and tired of Cam fans that try to elevate him to some position he's not. Cam people brought up the HOF.

The people on this board are like the guys that gas up fat chicks online calling them beautiful and sexy.

That's why.

He's a great Football player not a diety.

man dude I dont get it... you act like Cam was a bad passer, he wasn't.  He was a good passer, but where he actually shined WAS in crunch time for this team, esp as a passer... he's lead 20 game winning drives, 16 4th quarter come backs, and every single one of them relied on him as a passer as well.

if you want to say cam right now relies significantly more on his legs fine, but his HOF chances will be judged by his earlier career primarily anyway.

he is the QB and probably the best player to ever play for this team... so yeah, you'll get some people thinking things a bit out of proportion for him.

but he also has had multiple years of >4k total yards and >30 total TDs, and on some pretty not good teams offensively lol.  Very often his only receiver remaining a starter the next year was Greg fuging Olsen LOL.

In which case he didn't have the longevity.

Lol and no. At no time was he an elite arm.

He has been inaccurate AF since day 1.

Plenty of games he lost in crunch time due to blowing throws.

I don't get why you guys can't be honest about him. Makes no sense the infatuation.

Those are all scramblers though.  That isn’t Cam.  Cam is just in a weird category all alone.  There just isn’t a comp IMO to Cam. Makes him hard to judge vs others.

and there probably won’t be another.  His TD record probably will be there for eternity unless we see the rules go to kill the pass.  Which I don’t see.  Ever.

Some of that's true. But what's also true is we drafted duds like KB and Funches because of catch radius because Cam couldn't consistently put the ball on the money.

can I also just say the narrative Cam was stealing from the RBs is nuts?

2011 - 1500 yards rushing by RBs

2012 - 1200 yards rushing by RBs

2013 - 1400 yards rushing by RBs

2014 - 1100 yards rushing by RBs

2015 - 1500 yards rushing by RBs

2016 - 1300 yards rushing by RBs

2017 - 1200 yards rushing by RBs

2018 - 1200 yards rushing by RBs (170 by DJ)

reality is Cam as a rushing threat opened the offense up... similarly to how his arm does.

He just stole the TDs from them.

They'd get us inside the 3 then he'd keep the ball.

The only season PFF records his "accuracy" numbers before his major injuries was 2018 where only 13% of his throws were considered bad throws, putting him in the top/bottom 10 of the NFL in terms of bad throw %.  Maybe you assume his arm was worse than other QBs because you watched him more?  Yes Cam missed receivers high on occasion and didn't always have the best touch, but he threw incredible balls and won us games with his arm all the time.

as to an elite arm, you're moving the goal posts.  He was an elite QB.  Not all elite QBs have elite arms (hell for that matter a lot of them don't, lol).  If you want to break Cam's rushing out from his passing you can, but that isn't what judges someone's status as elite... just your personal opinion of them.

as to not being honest, most posters here would acknowledge he isn't a surefire lock to the HoF.  You're the one that comes in here and basically says he wasn't a good QB lol
