  1. Personally I feel like you may as well hold a fire sale, especially on defence and build the strongest offence you can through draft and free agency. Yeah we will have a historically bad defence… we will lose a lot of games in-spite of our offence but we will achieve two things: 1. Determine if Young can deliver with as much investment into the OLine, WR and TE position as we give him. 2. If he can’t, our new rookie QB in 2025 will be walking into a great situation to thrive in, rather than what we tried to do this season by removing playmakers.
  2. I’ve gone with Bryce Young With the move to more and more protection for QBs and offended in general, I’m less worried about the heavy hits he might take regularly.
  3. Hurst was the Bengals TE1… they have studs at WR though, so I think we can do just fine if we can get lucky and land a potential WR1 or TMJ makes a massive move this season
  4. 3rd QB selected doesn’t necessarily mean our 3rd option. If our #1 or even #2 ranked QB is still on the board and the first two picks have been made… irrespective on if other QBs have been selected… we would try and trade up for sure.
  5. IMO you have to go into the selection of a QB thinking that they won’t improve. From there you gotta think if what they are now will succeed in the NFL or not. Mental processing speed isn’t something that can be easily coached in or trained. Typically players who can’t handle the speed coming in, never can. Accuracy isn’t easily fixed as you are trying to change someone’s deep rooted muscle memory. Typically inaccurate passes will remain at the bottom the passing stats. Same with physical, everyone has a limit so making a dramatic improvement on their manoeuvrability is very unlikely. This is why a smart offensive coach and system is so critical as they excel at putting players in positions that prioritises their strengths and hides weaknesses. So, if AR made marginal improvements on his game… but largely remained what he is, would he win games and potential of a Super Bowl?
  6. Just need to remember that all charities need people to run them and the initiatives have operational costs associated to them. So on the surface 24% of donations going to charitable activities seems low, but doesn’t necessarily point to fraud - it could simply be an inefficiently run charity
  7. People complaining he never drafted a young QB to coach up probably aren’t aware what options he had. In his time as HC he only had 1 first round pick, in 2021 at position #21, where the top 5 QBs had already been selected. In all other years his drafts started in round 2. To specify this is follow Lucks retirement.
  8. Surely making that trade AND making the playoffs is actually a sign of a great decision… best of both worlds. Without a competent QB the best we can hope for is playoffs and a competitive season. Even with CMC the chances of the Super Bowl are so tiny.
  9. Definitely think we gambled on him driving his value higher into the offseason. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a trade before the next draft for a greater haul if he can finish strong
  10. Trading Moore makes no sense, especially if we are about to embark on drafting a QB. On Burns, I suspect that it wasn’t just about the 2 firsts but rather that they didn’t want to lose a possible cornerstone of the new HC. Better to get the HC in place and then either extend or trade following their thinking. Trading can happen in the post season so this might not be the last we hear on Burns.
  11. Take a look around the league, so many RB2/3 filling in for injured “stars” and looking good. Keep him if you can get him on low money, but don’t invest
  12. You want them to develop, work hard, show improvement… and lose… How do you control that? How can players do everything you ask and guarantee a loss. If they are getting better why would you encourage them to be losing. The only way is by asking them or forcing them to intentionally lose.
  13. I think if you are asking people to intentionally lose… how would that site with the gambling world and authorities? You are asking people to put their careers at risk, do you really think any player or coach you want to keep will believe in you any more? I’d assume they are much more likely to flip to looking out for themselves. Tanking is a dirty word because it implies you are intentionally scheming on game day to lose. Whereas Increasing your draft return by trading away prized assets is not directly causing you to lose. Especially if you have a great core of youth you want to improve via training and instilling the right attitudes and mindsets for the future.
  14. #1 priority for me is select the right HC… someone who can put a rookie QB in positions to succeed - without stunting them to the point they are reliant on scheme to perform. We have an OLine - we just need to be looking ahead and have replacements ready. However we don’t have skill players, aside from Moore, who can help a QB. So the offensive scheme and play calling trumps all IMO
  15. Take a look back at the offensive production under Wilks back with the Cards - dead last in points, total yards, passing and rushing
  16. I feel like they game-planned to avoid exposing PJ, rather than trying to do the things he can do well (for him not better players). Coaching to avoid a car crash but not try and win. I would say smarter coaching would have tried to look at what PJ can do, potentially what makes him different to Baker or Darnold, and lean on that. Instead he had like 1 air yard or something on completed passes. Its not like PJ is new, he’s been here a while and some coaches would have known him pretty well. If he can’t be trusted to throw he shouldn’t have started, our QB5 should have been.
  17. The original subject matter was you need an NFL level QB to win in the NFL. Prior to this season none of those players have ever “won”, including Geno Smith I mentioned in the prior post. Almost all of them were QB2/3 at some point and almost all we had a chance to sign. Would you have expected Geno to be leading or be in the top tier of a lot of passing markers at this point with 3 wins under his belt?
  18. If the plan is to get CMC on IR asap to complete the tank then this is the right way to go
  19. Cooper Rush, Daniel Jones, Marcus Mariotta… all proving that you can have a benchwarmer or career-to-date below average QB and win games with capable and in places impressive offensive production.
  20. Added to this Geno Smith has won 3 games this season with great offensive numbers
  21. I’m in the UK and I can assure almost all of Western Europe (which is where the most fans are) have nowhere near the racial challenges the US does. You can only be thinking of Eastern Europe singular examples such as in Russia, Belarus, Hungary etc. these counties have heavy presence of racism for sure. I do t think the NFL is considering them…
  22. Because it wasn’t the NFL… European universities and sports work completely differently, so European countries aren’t setup to nurture people into the sport and coach them up while in eductation. Instead it’s people trying to make it on low wages and largely it’s people who work trying to get into a team. So simply it’s not a sustainable career when all fans will be spending their money on the NFL rather than support essentially and amateur American football team. so the quality and infrastructure just doesn’t exist, it would never really work without a more direct connection to the NFL.
  23. Mayfields record for batted passes 2018 - 0 2019 - 20 2020 - 8 2021 - 11 2022 - 7 (through week 3)
  24. There’s stats you can find on this. In 4 games he has more than he’s ever had in an entire season from what I could see. This season is an anomaly for him, so it’s gotta be the OL or play calling not compensating for his height
