Fitts is just so much better at the talking part, he actually looks believable where Rhule looks like a fat kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Putting all the 'who is responsible for what part of this mess' completely to the side, do you really trust either one at face value?

Is there a person in the NFL - coach, GM, or otherwise - that you should take entirely at face value?

No. The answer is no. These guys aren't going to be 100% honest. Even within the organization, even players, there are politics at play. Everything in media pressers need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Is any of this news to you?

Absolutely not but when people say 'Well so and so said it' and then take it as a fact in a debate I think that can be called out. Both those guys a very suspect and there is enough BS flying around in the last 24 hours to prove both our points.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
