Being completely objective here, McAdoo was the best available Candidate for the Job

That is why I used YPT not YPC, that factors in Cruz's lower catch %. Their actually YPC is actually alot closer.

I'm not failing at all, a player's stats don't happen in a vacuum.  You can't say a RB adds an extra 1000 yards to a team on 200 carries. Another RB would have also rushing yards on those carries, you have to look at the difference between the two to decide the value the player is adding.

OBJ completely changed that offense and what they could do. Literally no DC lost any sleep thinking about how he was going to defend Victor Cruz. If you've forgotten how good OBJ was in his early years, just go back and watch him nearly single handedly pull off an insane comeback against us during our SB run in Cams MVP season.

Also you are trying to totally discount McAdoo by compaing that team to the previous year Giants.  The offensive ranking is realtive to the other teams in the league.  Alot of teams have quality #1 WRs.

Also their PPG in 2014 was actually higher the games OBJ didn't play.

Can anyone else confirm the statement by Joe Person, that Macdoo interviewed the last two years for QB coach and was declined??

I was just at that the point of hope.....

He was QB coach in Jacksonville the season that secured them the Trevor pick.  So basically a team that wanted to tank….rented Ben for a season.

I'm not trying to discount McAdoo anymore than the NFL has after he was fired as the Giants' HC. I mean, they sure have been beating his door down. 😂

He's just not that good. Which is the best Matt Rhule can get.

I'm not a fan of Rhule or how things have  happened either, but I don't know what people expected.

When you lose an OC this is what you get.  Other "rockstar" OC's don't take lateral moves, thats true for dumpster fire teams or good teams.

You either sign a position coach (such as a RB or QB coach), who often is young and doesn't have actual OC experience, which has been the biggest complaint about Rhules staff, or you sign a former OC who is available because he probably failed as a HC.  Alot of people around would have been happier with Bill O'Brian but he fits that same profile.  Failed HC, and honestly a lot of his OC years don't look good on paper at all.  Sure he looks good at Alabama but look at his Housten Teams or his old days as OC at Duke.

The other option is to promote somebody already on staff but I'm not sure any of us want that.

If we weren't a "dumpster fire" what pool of coaches did you think we were really going to be looking at?

I'd feel a lot better about it if Rhule had a bigger NFL circle. He's just very limited on who he can get to consider this job based on his lack of NFL contacts compared to most other NFL HCs and his perceived red hot seat. Guys with other legit options are simply gonna say thanks but no thanks, like Pep Hamilton did.

It all boils down to why you should just fire Rhule though. Now.

Rhule can’t attract coaching talent because he is basically a lame duck.   And Rhule needs a lot of help because his staff was always comically weak.   To work around our QB and OL deficiencies….you need some great NFL coaching.  Which isn’t on the table.

it just makes 2022 predictable.    Just like 2021 ended up being when Rhule made Sam the man.   And Rhule and company will take the next year to sign guys and draft guys…..for a team we all know will be over and done with.   Tepper just seems to be digging a ditch for no real reason outside of ego.

To be fair, Minshew actually had a pretty damn good year stats wise (and for the most part play wise), and he was benched a few games to secure the #1.  There's only so much the QB coach can do with somebody like Mike Glennon etc...  They turned to tanking a bit into the season too, didn't start out that way.

Plus this team is such a dumpster fire, it's lucky anyone with significant NFL experience was willing to jump in.

Hes already had his hands on Minshew.....I dont think hes a fan like me and others. He did interview for QB at panthers(two years), Rhule picked Sean Ryan 2nd year instead(on that gianits staff when rhule had a cup of coffee as OL asst). Jax hired Ben and he only lasted one year....... being out of the game for three years, then Jax for one and your buddy gives you a consult job......all the hope I can not over-look that.
