Trade back and grab Zion Johnson as C

Zion is a target. Down to trade way further down than people expect and take Green or Zion.  Linderbaum is also a guy we should be eying.  Trade down between 11 to 17 Linderbaum is the guy.  Trade down to 18 to 27 Green or Zion.  If we go past that I can be onboard for a QB.

Have no doubt Zion could become a very good center, but the kid is already a very good left guard, my favorite guard in the draft.  As for Center, Linderbaum is the obvious #1 target with Zach Tom from Wake Forest as my sleeper pick.

Talk about sleeper pick and a kid you don't hear about, look at Tyler Smith from Tulsa. He plays LT and has all the tools, just needs to work on technique which Campen should be able to do. Smith has a chance to be a good LT, but no doubt he could step in on day one as a very good guard with potential to become dominant. Nastiest blocker in the draft.

I want o-linemen who pass block well and pick up stunts and delayed blitzes well. It's helpful if they can run block as well, but that is not the top criteria. Protecting the QB so we can air it out, especially in the 4th quarter, is priority one.

Trading back takes a trade partner willing to make a fair offer. This draft looks weak at the top, so I'm doubting we'll find a trade partner.

Take Linderbaum at 6th. Don't get all tricky and trade back, you'll miss out on him.

Teams are struggling to get offensive linemen of ability and this year everyone is going shopping for them. Grab Linderbaum at 6 and start building. He has the brains and experience to do the job and a pro-team weight room will take care of the rest.

There's usually only one really good center in each draft. We've passed on them too many times. We need to grab the guy and not look back.

Zion could go 1st round.  He is a top guard and has scheme and position versatility.  Green is up there too but Green is less versatile.   That said a situation that could be interesting to us would be a big trade down. Trade our 6 for the Lions 32,34 and 66.  This trade is further down than I would like but if the target is a guard, linebacker, safety or QB this could work out.  The Lions take either Kayvon or Aiden at 2 and then either Sauce or top WR at 6.  Yes, we are dropping down alot but this could be right where a Zion, Green, Kinnard or Lucas land.  Other targets at positions of need in this area would be Daxton Hill or a top defensive lineman who fell between the cracks after the top 8 to 10 go earlier.  That 66 pick is also valuable with linebackers, interior offensive lineman and the second tier of wide receivers likely available there.  In what would likely be the most unsexy draft ever.

  32.  Zion to play LG.

34. Kinnard to play RG.

66. Chad Muma to play MLB.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
