Where in the world are you guys getting that Murray sucks?

He’s a top 10 statistical QB while having to face LA twice, SEA twice, and SF twice. He got his team to the playoffs in the toughest division in football? He’s literally a more accurate passer than Cam Newton has ever been…and you’re getting him at age 24. Years before he actually peaks. You all wanna roll the dice with Kenny Pickett? Be back in the top 5 again next year debating if we should bail on Pickett to take Stroud. Go for it…I would trade for a proven commodity, dump a terrible contract and basically be down three picks over a period of three years. With the 1st in 2023 hopefully landing in the late 20s. But yeah….Willis and Pickett. Woo hoo.

He gets hurt.  When he stops running and is contained to the pocket he becomes below average.  His entire game is predicated by him moving around.  And this past season showed once he got hurt (again) he was really skittish about running.  Go look up the last playoff game.  They contained him in the pocket and he was terrible

He rushed for like 250 total yards this year and passed for 3700 yards. He had a better statistical season than Russell Wilson in his 2nd or 3rd year. You guys are crazy.

That doesnt change anything that I posted.  His size and running gets him banged up and when it happens his play is affected

Some of ya'll need to take a break. If you want to say he might not hold up physically that's one thing. This isn't even a hot take it's just being ignorant for the sake of being so. You cheered for Sam fuging Darnold last year. The worst starting QB in the NFL. Sorry you get no right to make these claims.

He has missed two games in three years. If he’s gun shy then it’s a scheme problem. Build an OL around him and give him a 1300 yard rusher. His best running back this year rushed for 700 yards on 3.7ypc. Don’t let the D tee off on him and you have fixed a lot of the problem.

He cannot see over his line as it is.  That is why the rams totally shut him down.  They contained him in the pocket and it was over.  Watch the highlights, he is skittish under pressure.

Let’s paint a picture here:

Mobile QB with elite accuracy outside the pocket: Murray

Elite running attack with a change of pace and a power back: CMC, Foreman, Chubba

Bruising offensive line

Tough #1 WR: DJ

Elite defense with the best secondary in the league: Horn, Jackson, Henderson, Chinn, Burris

Elite pass rush: Burns, Luvu, Brown, Shaq

Does this description sound like any team that Fitterer has been involved with in the past?

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
