I mean the kid did beat New York to clinch the division on the road so I’d give him a go.

I’m still not understanding why He was benched after a loss in Boston.  Maybe it’s the language barrier or I just still don’t understand hockey, but I thought the kid played great on the whole.

You’re guess is good as mine, he definitely seemed to be on a short leash.

I think Raanta is tired.

I would like Freddie back, but not if it is too soon.  I also worry about shaking off the rust.

TDA hasn't been the same since he got injured.  He isn't posing the offensive threat he did earlier in the year.

All the talk of the Canes can't win on the road has gotten into the player's heads.  They have to rise above all the noise.

I'll say it time and again, the Canes have to beat the team in front of them and the refs.  The NHL wants a TB/NYR ECF.....people can believe what they want, but more viewers from large/rabid fanbase markets makes Bettman and the NHL happy.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
