Matt Corral: The Biggest Underdog in The NFL

Person just mentioned that all the 3rd round QB's from the draft are holding out for more guaranteed $$

They put a one year wonder and athlete not yet ready to play, and ok Ridder above the presumptive QB1 of only a year ago because of fake/embellished news.

All that hard work just to lose a significant portion of your reward over something you can't control, the fake news rumor mill.

Honestly, it's simply part of the process. It's a dirty business, but they're going to reach back to high school (or even further) when evaluating a player. The rumors and poo had an effect, how much we'll never know, but the injuries were the main problem. They opened the door wider and gave people the opportunity to focus on BS while MC was on the mend. The good thing is that if he performs up to his potential, whatever financial hit he has to take on his first few years in the league will be more than offset with future earnings. It's not where you begin, but where you end up.

start him day one.

IMO he will perform as good if not better than Darnold.   Even if he throws too many picks I think the experience will help us contend in 2023.  If he can just utilize his weapons and minimize his mistakes.  We have a team that could surprise people.

I think he's the real deal though.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
