Yeah and Trubisky took Nagy and a team of nobodies to the playoffs twice. Trubisky also beat Cam and the Panthers when John Fox was the coach of the Bears.

How is a team with David Montgomery, Allen Robinson, and a top 10 defense a team of nobodies? Had they had an above average qb, they would have won something meaningful those years.

Good passing stats do not make a good QB. In my experience watching Trubisky, he goes off against one or two inferior opponents in a year for monster stats and highlights, then he’s awful and incredibly mentally inconsistent in everything else.

Come back to me when Trubisky flops again this year.

Romeo Doubs is getting all the attention early in camp as far as the WRs go. Lazard, Cobb, and Sammy Watkins are all doing their thing, but Romeo is the one of the 3 rookie WRs, that is really starting to form something with Aaron. Christian Watson has been recovering from a minor procedure he had done before camp, and will miss about another 9 days.

Aaron really likes what he is seeing from Romeo so far:

The pads go on tomorrow, so we will see if Romeo continues to shine as camp moves on..

As a diehard Tarheel football fan, Trubisky is awful. Worse than huddle perception of Darnold awful.

I never get what people saw in him. Marquise Williams was so much better than him at UNC.

Quise was a good college QB but it was so dumb of UNC to leave Trubisky sitting behind him. Trubisky was just a much better QB. A Nick Saban or Dabo Swinney wouldn't have hesitated to make that switch.

Rodgers has a way of making guys shine, that’s for sure.

Don’t get this note twisted coming right after mention of some Wentz woes, but Howell looked the part of a quarterback facing Washington’s second and third teams. The fifth-round pick calmly stepped into throws and fired strikes to Kelvin Harmon, Kyric McGowan and others. He placed the ball perfectly to running back Reggie Bonnafon in the left flat with a defender lurking.

Howell’s arm strength is legitimate.

What is to twist? Howell is the 3rd stringer. Howell will most likely end up on the PS all season.

Only you are exposing yourself as being upset about the fact your post was:

I mean what’s the difference between him posting about Howell and you posting about the Packers fourth or fifth string WR?

Howell has had a good start to camp, nearly everyone will tell you that, including Terry McLaurin.

Howell is doing the best that he can against the competition he’s being put against and it’s impressing both fans and players of the Commanders.

Really nothing more to the story, not exactly sure why it triggered some people.

I didn’t see the poster make some asinine statement that Howell was the second coming of Rodgers… just confused about what exactly triggered you.

Really nothing to the story

Exactly why I said his post was completely worthless.

Howell is the third string QB. He is most likely going to be on the PS all season.

He is irrelevant. Why bring him up?

You bring up Romeo Doubs, because he is forming something with Aaron Rodgers. 12 is not only impressed, but feels Romeo can be a major part of the offense this season. That is newsworthy!

Okay bud.. maybe he likes Howell and just felt like posting it… didn’t realize fugging Sam Howell’s success as a QB3 was now living rent free in peoples heads.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
