Obviously just another biased Matt Rhule hater right? 🙄

I don’t care for Rhule, but Corral was never in the running for the starting or backup role. This is his redshirt year. They handled it accordingly. The PJ thing is the most confusing too me.

I’m surprised by the negativity on Corral I really liked what I saw from him especially that first drive. You’re basically watching him get his reps at an NFL level in real time on tv since he’s not getting much in practice at all. His quick release and mobility are awesome traits to have and he needs to lean into that and build up on the mental side to get more comfortable. He’s going to have bad throws and that’s okay, that’s what preseason is for! Treat him like a redshirt freshman and let him develop into a professional should he work hard at it.

This is the nfl.  You can’t treat players like a redshirt freshmen and simply ignore them.  It doesn’t happen that way in the nfl.  It just doesn’t.

I will have to disagree. Wasting reps in a farce QB competition and trotting out practice squad level quarterbacks like PJ Walker to get even more reps on top of putting your rookie behind an oline that looks like last seasons worst moments is not how you develop a young QB. If it looks like a duck walks like a duck and quacks like a duck you already have your answer. Baker may make some miraculous plays to keep us in contention but this OL depth is very worrisome.

Revisionist history - Moore was a competent backup, but found out any time he had to start for an extended period of time.

No. Panther Matt Moore was sitting behind Jake most of his time here. He went on to start and do pretty well for Miami. He wasn't going to be at Jake Delhomme so he went out and earned the starting job for the Dolphins and did well considering. He didn't fall off like Clausen when he left here, that's for sure.

It doesn't matter who is doing it when we can all see the mismanagement. Even this reporter is seeing exactly what most of us here have been seeing with the total disrespect and disdain for a damn good rookie.

The staff, at least half of them should have been focused on Matt Corrals development. Instead he's out there trying to run full speed not having the reps or contact other guys had to get into football shape he was out at the end of the bench to his own devices.

Matt Rhule needs to go. Jim Harbaugh would absolutely LOVE Matt Corral.

Jim Harbaugh isn't just worth the $$$$$ as a coach it doesn't matter what QB you draft, he's a former long time NFL QB with da Bears, he's a in house QB guru.

He took Kaep to the Superbowl, built a simplistic offense around what the player did best.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
