San Jacinto Bar tried to be a Panthers bar back during the Superbowl run and the season after. As Panthers fans tend to do, they gave up after the team was garbage that season.

Yep, I played a few gigs there too with a country singer. They lasted like 4 weeks as a Panthers bar before they gave up lol

If not for the snow and over all crap for winters in Omaha, Austin would be my least favorite place I've lived. Severely overhyped and nothing warrants the influx of population. Housing prices have also sky rocketed all around the area. Wouldn't recommend unless you want to live in the Leftist most city in TX and like packed 6th street bars on the weekends or are an extreme Longhorns fan...

Ive heard simlar stories, plus heard the drugs issues are a HUGE problem now as well. My sister lives in New Braunfels and shes been trying to get me to visit. Pulling all the stops, thought about hitting Austin at the same time. 6th street is like bourbon street- pick pockets, piss, and vomit....

Yea the drugs are really a territorial thing, like most cities. I lived in North Austin and worked downtown, didn't see many meth zombies out. I was born in Gonzales.. been to New B a few times growing up. Austin definitely isn't a bad place to visit, just not live. San Antonio or Houston offer a better bang for the buck if you want to detour to a bigger city when visiting, though.

New Braunfels and Austin are very different places and well over an hour away from each other. 6th St is garbage. There's a ton of great places to go if you stay away from the obvious tourist spots.

I'm well aware, but Austin isn't worth visiting if he can venture further away. All there is in Austin are places to eat.. oh and a big over hyped music festival.

 

Yea, the crime rate is extremely low in Tyler and 5pm traffic doesn't last until 7pm. If your only concern is food, then sure, go to Austin lol

      Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.

We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league.
