The speed may have been disproven, it remains to be seen if he can throw and he's definitely still a project..... He's still a backup unless Tannehill gets hurt...  I'd say in a redraft he's up to about a 2nd rounder... But not the 6th overall you wanted him at.

Weren't you and that mrcompletely11 guy driving the willis is not a quarterback and can't run train? I mean if a guy can play he can play. He has shown enough flash that I wouldn't be mad at him in the first. Still a ton of work to do and icky was a fair call in the first round. Not mad at that at all.

But when the guy who was projected as a first round talent falls to the second round then the third round.. If we're talking him at 6-7 no way u pass again there if u have just darnold on the roster we had then. I stand by that

I'd have been fine with him in the second wasn't thrilled with the Corral pick, mrcompletely11 said he couldn't run, I'll admit I questioned his speed agaist NFL players... I think he will turn out to be a good QB but is a work in progress (Willis) he has displayed the ability to run in the preseason (and is faster than I thought) not Lamar or Murray fast thought.

I'll say he may end up being better than Tre Lance (honestly already looks more polished).

I respect that.  I don't think the think he was ever as fast as Lamar Jackson. I think the quote was like he was the best runner of the football since Lamar Jackson. Could mean agility, break tackle, field vision... I'm still not sure where I place him speed wise but he has to be in the Murray or slight slower ball park.. I think maybe he's faster than cam? Hard to say.

Everyone overthought Howell in my opinion. If you take away any QB’s top two receivers and top two RB’s and put them behind a poo OL then they are going to regress a bit. I think Howell showed yesterday what he can truly do in the NFL.

I was saying the same thing.   I thought Howell did quite well considering the loss of talent.  He was only 500 yds off his 2020 season.

I wanted Howell but like I said before we drafted anyone.  I would pull for the rookie QB.  It's just sad that he never really received a chance.

1955 a QB from Louisville was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and was never really given a chance to make the team.  It wasn't until a Coach named Weeb Ewbank found the man with the "Golden Arm"

Johnny Unitas

Not saying Corral will be the next Unitas but someone is going to get him and find they have a pretty decent QB.  Corral never received a fair shake here.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
