Drafting Kickers

Most collegiate kickers are terrible. Everyone once in a while one or two will actually get drafted. Like anything else in the draft, whether they succeed or not is a total crap shoot.

Roberto Aguayo was drafted in the second round and was god awful.

The Panthers drafted Harrison Butker in the seventh round and he performed better than Graham Gano in camp/preseason. Since this team has always been managed by a bunch of morons, They decided to keep Gano over Butker because veteran. Then they decided waste cap space with a fat contract for Gano who got injured and then released about a year and a half into a 4 year contract all while Butker became one of the best kickers in the league for Kansas City while on a rookie seventh rounder's salary.

And people wonder why this Franchise sucks.

Stop bro, you're making me really sad lol

I'm being serious here, I have no doubt in my mind this franchise would be better off with a bunch of huddlers running the show than the clowns we've had throughout the years. We've been right more times than not. Butker incident, not wanting Teddy, not wanting Darnold, saying we should have let Cam play out his contract, saying we should have fired Rhule last year, saying we should have gotten Eberflus or Daboll, saying we should have shored up our run defense in the offseason when it was blatantly obvious it was a HUGE weakness, saying not to draft a run stuffing DT in the top 10, saying to start Bozeman over Eflein, etc.

When your average fanbase is right more times than your front office, it is doomed to fail. We are officially the bottom dwellers of the NFL.

    • I've already posted this but I think it's worth repeating here: "To me, that's an insult to Horn but that's besides the point. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers faced a 4-5 with 3:31 left in the game. Bryce hit Horn for a 17 yrd completion picking up the 4th down and leading to a score for the win." So why shoulf they have not used Horn on that down given they had before - with success.
    • each of the past 3 yeara byoungs y/g passer rating and qbr all have been between 30th and 24th.  up and down he hasnt improved he had the atlanta game thus year and a few ok games but didnt even eclipse 300 yards but 2 games and one of those 2 againdt arizona he got 300 bc he was trying to come back from a blowout he caused by playinf horrific.  i just dont see what everyome else sees maybe i am the one with the issue bc i cant see his greatness.  i woild rather an udfa rookie next year at qb
    • It may help satisfy the rule, but I don't think the franchise that pushed for the rule is interviewing anyone they wouldn't seriously consider for the job just to satisfy the rule. If the Steelers interview you, they have legitimate interest in hiring you
