the same rage when turdovac would drop Peppers in coverage...

Exactly... Rivera, did it with Hardy and Cj. Fox did it with pep and Rucker, and Capers did it with Green and Lathom.. All teams do it now.. Von miller, Mack, Garret, and Shaq Barret drops in coverage...

Yeah Chinn back deep and Xavier who is 5'11" and 200 pounds in the box....

Each fuging time.........Woods needs everything hes got to stop Chubb/Barkely....... He played more LB than S......so dumb and one of my reason to rage.

I said 10 games would be the least, in classic Rhule fashion, hes testing me.......

Lastly Ive heard the main reason for this is to "SAVE" chinn........You know what is better than that??? Have him stand on the sideline would be better, its about the same thing they going now with this 30 yards deep BS, sooooo GD dumb.. Its the NFL, let Chinn PLAY BALL!!!!!

I get it, you cannot have him rush EVERY play. Just its a sorry-ass attempt at a ruse. "Wow you tricked me into dropping my best/only pass rusher into coverage"...........Maybe one a game, not every few plays. Move him around the DL, inside, left, right, have him next to haynes, etc. Do not drop him in coverage. Its fools gold.

I agree but the point remains this isn't a Carolina or College or Snow invention.. The NFL have been doing this for 30 years now..

Pitt dropped Harrison in the superbowl and he int for a TD..

The last sack yesterday was the DE dropping and the Giants sending a CB in his place..

It's a NFL strategy now..

I mean I have seen d lineman do a surprise drop into coverage, but to put a pass rushing specialist in the slot to cover a receiver is pretty dumb, and dropping him into coverage 38% of a game? That's a special kind of stupid.

Yea, its still is part of game-planing.....Tho I will say this- Burns is it. Dropping others when you still have legit pass rushers, its different.  Rucker was good and so was Jenkins......Peppers could play any spot on the field(minus ST)..... Burns is alll alone and I doubt his hands are good enough for some miracle INT....

To me I much rather Burns waste his energy running towards the QB, besides running out to a zone with not one player near. I swear I also seen him line up on a WR a couple times, is that "game-plan" "ok"?? (i swear late game he did it against toney)

At some point players got to step up..

Yetor, Hayes and they need to get Barno on the field.. They need to step up so the drop off in pass rushing isn't as steep..

Then the next question is who else on the dline can actually drop in coverage anyway??

Yeah I get it, but Chinn is a lot faster than Woods and so can cover more field as a single high. Woods is a good player but not what we needed to put Chinn back at SS or NB/LB. Probably best our option at FS besides Chinn would Hartsfield unless we move a corner. They kind of screwed up roster building and just try to make it work with what they want to do. Poor coaching from the start IMO.

Chinn needs the full Troy Polamalu treatment or become Thomas Davis 2.4 Its that simple. If youre worried about tackling will shorten his career, go coach soccer/cricket.

I can not be convinced moving your best player 30 yards away form the LOS, is doing him any favors. If woods can play on the line, just swap them out. Chinn is a play making weapon and if the roles were reversed, Im fairly sure Chinn could have changed the out-come of that game. He had a ROTY season(I refuse to say young won, BS).....He showed the world then, now its "front row seat" placement Chinn?? ugh....

I do not disagree. Chinn is our best FS, SS and maybe LB too. They just dropped the ball when they brought in Woods. Its poor coaching and team-building.

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
