Positions besides qb we need.

What positions besides qb do we need help at this offseason? i say wr, dt olb and punt returner/corner.

i say trade peppers to new england for 2 2nd round picks or a 2nd and a 3rd.

get a wr in free agency and draft, draft a new nose tackle, with all the dts we pickup we can wait one more year on this position.

i think this is the perfect year to draft a new olb, davis and beason are entreched in thier positions and have experience now.

and one kick returner, thru fa.

You say that we should draft a nose tackle...then say we picked up DT's and can wait one more year. You do realize they are the same position....don't you?

We need a WR, a solid back up pass blocking tackle, a back up LB one who is athletically gifted enough to play the OLB spot, and a back up SS the hard hitter type. After that I would say go for a PR. Not to mention the WR we draft will likely see KR/PR time.

So I see it

2nd-WR

3rd- SS/LB-Perhaps a tweener SS/LB?

4th- OT

We don't have a 5th round selection. We have a surplus of DTs so I think we will be good there unless Irvin does not develop as he should. Leonard and Tyler are definite keepers. Kemoatu will probably given another shot to see if he's got anything. Irvin is the pass rushing type but he could be cut with a new HC. I could see Lewis being let go.

I think we are pretty solid everywhere else. I don't think we have alot of holes we are just lacking a good starter where we truly need one which is QB.

what i actually meant was we need a new nose tackle, but no under tackles we have plenty of those but both our nose tackles are old. vince wilfork would be nice!:D

3rd-QB

4th-DT

6th-BPA

exactly!! :D

trade pep, get rid of thomas and kemo, get vince wilfork or high draft pick nose tackle. , fa wr(vincent jackson and draft choice) , cut moose , let hoov and kasay retire, fa kicker. problem solved. :D

Pipe dream they traded Seymour so the could sign Wilkfork long term. Jackson is one of the best young receivers in the game, no way the bolts let him walk. This was the same logic that a lot of other fans used with Pep last year. He's still here isn't he.

If Fox stays, we don't really need a new wide receiver, because we wont throw enough to worry about it. If Fox gets canned, then all bets are off and all positions are open.

Fwiw, as much as I like Kasay, I think with a new coach, his position will be vulnerable. Most coaches won't have two kickers and a punter on the roster.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
