David Tepper ‘Under Investigation’ Over Public Money

You don't have to break it down for me. I know what I'm talking about. What shows me you know nothing about the situation is that you think Tepper wanted to be the bonder. Without writing a huge page on this and this is a large situation I will explain why Tepper became the bonding company and why that wasn't a favorable situation.

Normally in a large construction project a bonding company is used to insure in case of default all contractors get paid. With the Rockhill project the city couldn't afford a bonding company and the state wasn't going to open up funds to make that possible. So Tepper took on that liability so the project couldn't move forward. Now he's under the microscope because as I assume Rockhill council mislead on how much capital they had for the project. So now the state is investigating him to see if he kept any of the states money and didn't pay the debts. I'm pretty sure Tepper kept meticulously good records because he was the bonding company. Thus why I said they will find nothing. They are hoping for a procedural mistake so they can open up civil litigation and remove fault of Rockhill. Because if they can't pierce the veil Rockhill will be exposed to litigation to all those contractors who didn't get paid.

HAHAHAHA. You sweep under the rug Tepper's actions and intent while focusing on the obvious civil intent that is just fallout.

IDGAF about RH. I already called them incompetent and that was their part in this mess. Tepper played his part and you can rant about some poedunk city all you want but that doesn't change that fact. The favorable situation was Tepper getting a deal way beyond typical and did so in a way the circumvented the state oversight very intentionally. His team pitched it to RH that way.

Read the article directly above your post.  Tep has agreed to give RH $20m, which is what they were seeking.  See article below, referring to how he has also settle with York County.  I know it's confusing, but Rock Hill and York County are not the same thing.

LMAO, they're both parts of the same shithole, the first speed trap on the way to Charleston, so they get lumped together. And paying the $20MM they were seeking isn't exactly opening up the checkbook as Arsen insinuated. $20MM isn't much to put this thing to bed.

Rockhill has 4 councilman so don't sell me that it doesn't have an interest. Also I know what SLED is. I've worked with them many times. Rockhill wanted the project but ran out of money. This investigation is to see if state money was misused and it wasn't. What this is all about is opening up Tepper to a civil suit. What lawyers call "Piercing the corporate veil". I'm not going into detail about that because it would be above a lot of people's head.

Definitely above mine

You have no idea what you're talking about. I have swept nothing "under the rug". I simply explained the situation. Which you obviously are having a hard time grasping. There was no favorable situation. The most favorable thing that could have happened was the completion of said project. That didn't happen so it's devolved into a legal mess. Tepper didn't circumvent any government body. A construction project doesn't have state oversight unless done by the state. Which it wasn't. The only matter up for question is if the money was used and I doubt a billionaire was defrauding the state of South Carolina. Next time just admit you know nothing about what you are talking about and save us both the trouble.

It was also my understanding that it was bonds to fund to the project and not bonds to insure the project. Link

Thanks for playing. Sorry it took me so long to find the effort to do it for you.

We're going to be a run first team with 3 receiving options better than any of the other players on past rookie 1k seasons. If you can't understand that, then it's a you problem, not a me problem. Arizona's previous basketball coach, Sean Miller, used to do something at the first team meeting of every season and I think it's soooooooooo applicable to this situation. He'd have every player right down how many minutes/points they expected to average that season and then he'd add them up.  It would show that if they all hit those numbers, we'd score like 125 points a game and need to be playing 7 guys at a time to get their minutes. That's pretty much how you guys are putting your T-Mac expectations out there, looking solely at the player and what you think he should be able to do, not how the offense will operate as a whole. Every yard one player gets is one less yard someone else can get.  It sounds like I just have more faith in Thielen, XL, and Coker this year than most everyone else.  But a big reason for that faith is because of T-Mac and how much he'll open things up for the rest of them and Bryce being the type of QB to take the open easy passes than force it to his #1. As I've said, if any one of the following happens... Thielen ends the season sub 700 yards, XL or Coker end up sub 500 yards... Then yes, I will then shift my expectations for T-Mac's rookie year to be at least 1,000 yard season. But since I have faith in those other 3 having solid seasons, it tempers my expectations yardage totals for T-Mac this year, and this year alone.  I've also clearly stated many times that I think he's going to reach 10 TDs. If T-Mac ends the season with 800 yards and 10 TDs, while Thielen gets 900-1,000 and XL/Coker each get around 600, I don't see any world where that is a failure for a rookie season for T-Mac. Because again, we're talking about expectations, not what is possible.  So given the other WR options, I can't EXPECT T-Mac to get to the 1k mark, which is a far cry from me saying I don't think he can get there. Do you really not see the difference there?
    • I don't recall anyone seeing this coming.  I mean, two seperate things for me.  I thought BB just might not work in college football because he is old grumpy man and college is about appealing to young kids.   So yeah, that could of gone great or horrible.  Coin flip.  This isn't that convo for me.  what we are witnessing right now play out.....this was never part of the disaster possibility/path discussed lol.  Really weird stuff.  Or maybe I missed the part where UNC hires a 20 year old "girlfriend" that apparently runs the Bill operation and before the season even starts is taking over more than just Bill but influence of the entire UNC operation.  That was her getting that official statement made today.  It was her sabotaging the Hard Knocks UNC show because she somehow wasn't the star.  Seems like elder abuse lol.  Only largely kidding.  You even got Charles Barkley saying he normally doesn't talk about personal lives of his friends but he might have to check in on Bill because this ain't normal stuff lol.  Anyway, it's entertaining.  Everything is a cartoon it seems these days.
    • I think its strange how you were claiming this guy was the second coming of Mike Evans and you can't even get behind 1k yards? I guess I have more faith in him than you
