Act as GM if we win the division….

The way I see it there are two paths:

PATH #1: Hire Steve Wilks full time and bring in Derek Carr - and a competent O.C. - to give us an at least average passing game and use the draft to (hopefully) upgrade the pass rush and offensive weapons, particularly WR depth and TE.

PATH #2: Hit reboot and replace Wilks with a young offensive mind who can develop a QB we draft in the 1st round, by trading up if necessary.

Reich as OC

Re-sign Darnold to two year, cap friendly deal; assumes no major regression last two games.  Darnold is your bridge QB while rookie draft pick and Corral are developed; two years to allow Corral and draft pick to develop without throwing them to the wolves too soon.  If one excels after just one year, sweet.

Re-sign Foreman (2 years) and Bozeman (3 years).

Levis / Richardson - 1A / 1B

Round 2.1 needs to be best TE available that can run routes and catch a football

Round 2.2 DE or DT [Starr 2.0, come on down]

Round 3 DE or DT; double dipping (yes, our run defense is that deficient)

Round 4.1 IL that can be future C (eventual Bozeman replacement)

Round 4.2 LB

Agreed. Need another WR as well

Last year. Also you keep mentioning 1-5 record and yes it does matter. An interim HC having success when he is made interim is not abnormal. Most interims have success because they are injecting some newness into the team.
Wilks success isn’t surprising.
But, as I said before, stats don’t lie. Unless he has become some savant HC after he flamed out in Arizona.
He will either make the playoffs but never make the Super Bowl.
Fail once he has control because he isn’t a good HC.

He hasn't been a head coach but for one season. Hard to make a judgment given his circumstances. I don't hear many folks feeling he got a fair shake in Arizona or here. In addition to the injuries you normally get and the shuffling of QBs he lost the player who accounted for 70% of the offense in McCaffrey and our deep threat receiver who will go unnamed. There were rumors of tanking for draft picks. The only person who believed in this team was Wilkes and his staff. Going 7-5 in the circumstances he inherited is all you need to know. He elevated players and got the best out of everyone. That is the primary job of a head coach.

    • Just going off the draft sims and he's always sitting around 20 lol. First year in a while where we haven't been thinking about the draft already in late October so haven't really looked into the top 15-20 picks yet. Also the qb class is super weak so he probably will sneak up into 10-15
    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
