Yikes!

I can't even take you seriously when you call that performance with the Rams good.lmao

Baker was just not shitty. He still was a below average QB with the Rams. Nobody is going to offer him a starting job because of 2 average games with the Rams.lol

I mean good as in ok/average. Much better than he looked here. He is far from great or elite.

Did you see our DB's on the roster?

Kind of hard to make adjustments when our #1 and #2 cb were out injured. I remember browsing the sub during that time and people were saying we were going to get burned with our DB's.

Wilks is not perfect but people act like he didn't have us looking like a totally different team after Rhule. He put us in position to make the playoffs. If we had one of our starting DB's we probably win that game honestly.

Yeah but you have to make an attempt to slow them down. To not only keep allowing it to happen but also electing not to go for it on fourth and short all with the playoffs on the line and knowing you need to get in to strengthen your chances to become the permanent head coach. Just not a good look. And people are giving him props for going 6-6 like that's all we're shooting for here. Simply being better than Rhule is not the bar for our next head coach.

So a 1 game sample is your proof?

Cmon man stop it.

Then he benched him for Sam?? You were just complaining about Sam being the reason they had to run so much. Wilks benched Baker for Sam then released him in which Baker looked immediately better on a new team within 24 hours. You know all of this….

If you are down CBs you probably shouldn’t leave your backups on an island against Evans, especially after they beat that CB on the same play for 3 separate TDs. Roll the damn safety over there to double him.

You are having to make a lot of excuses. I just don’t want the same old Fox/Rivera Panthers. Hell Wilks learned under Rivera…

He didn't have a full offseason as the HC.

He took over almost mid season.

What interim coach has a winning record that coached more than 12 games?

Interim coaches in general by and large have not been successful when given the permanent role I think there are one or two exceptions.

He made Sam look better than what Baker has looked with the Rams.

Bro what are you talking about?

You have a direct comparison. Baker with Wilks looked worse than Baker (same player) looked with a new team in 24 hours. Sam didn’t get to play for another team this year to compare.

Not making excuses.

Im just saying I wouldn't be upset if he was our HC. The situation he was dealt he did a damn good job imo. This team was headed towards the #1 pick before he became coach. Lets not forget how bad we were before Wilks got the job. Just sayin...

He is 1000 times better than Rhule. No one is arguing that.

Wilks would likely be on a VERY short leash and would most likely get a 3 year contract and be expected to make the playoffs soon.
He would pretty much be a “bridge” HC unless he somehow proved he could be more.
Because it is obvious that Wilks is not the HC Tepper wants and if Wilks is hired it is because everything fell through and Wilks is the only option available.
Meaning I expect Reich to be hired before Wilks is.

Bro he played 1 game. You sound crazy.

You judging coaches off 1 game tells me all I need to know. You never wanted Wilks and that's fine to admit.

He chose to bench him after 1 game not me. That was his call. I’m just saying after he looked like ass and was benched by Wilks he was released and immediately looked better with a different HC.

I believe Wilks will eventually get a head coaching job some time in the future, although it may take another year or two.

I don't think he is presently Tepper's first choice for the Panthers head coaching position.

    • Sure want him to play if possible!!!!
    • Which would be 8-8-1. An improvement.
    • Not sure who you are talking to. Everybody maybe? Anyhow the family cat woke me up so….  Saturday, I will be in the playoff frame of mind for that game don’t worry about that. Will be living and dying on each play. Pretty sure everyone will be. That is still a few days away though.  Right now it is yes we made the playoffs. Backed into it with some convoluted 3 way tie breaking magic. It took a heroic finish - not by us, but by Atlanta. I don’t hardly know how to feel about it. I don’t feel like we won it. It is just sort of, well okay here we are, somehow. Our number came up. We were lucky. And that is what we were. Not good, lucky.  As far as here, this discussion, I think people rightly feel like, look at the offense. And it is kind of, what offense? They shut our run down and we become totally stagnant. Some people have faith that the QB can beat people with his arm but we aren’t doing it. We went into our bye off a big high. In or tied for, first place. We control our destiny. 4 games to do it. And we freaking finished 1-3. That control our destiny thing? We didn’t control poo when it comes down to it. Lost in the mix is basically a huge collapse. No one really called it out, it got lost in the excitement of the chase. But, 1-3 with the playoffs on the line - every week. Not inspiring. I mean, you don’t call that trending up, and if we hadn’t lucked into the tournament that would be our finish headed into the offseason. Not what you want. And if we don’t win Saturday? 1-4 to finish the year.  Limping out.  Okay that said I do hate going into playoffs on a winning streak because you are almost due to end the streak and that loss ends your season, so dropping One before the elimination games start is almost a comfort. But 1-3 with a 54 yard passing total in one of them? Followed by 14 points in a must win. Hmmm.   I am supposed to be optimistic? Sorry I don’t think I can be. I can hope, that’s different. It has just been a rough 8 years, and the excitement of having a winning record is in the rear view this week. About the only way we can have one is make the NFCCG I think.    Anyhow, on offense, where are the signs that we can beat people who stymie our run game? I suppose it could happen out of the blue but we haven’t really been able to pull that off.  Beating Tampa Bay was good. That was it though. Our other last little bit of glory is two plays on 4th down where they didn’t really pay attention in the back end, somehow, and we got two really nice results.  Not once, but twice back to back. Honestly it was so out of character it felt a little fluky.  And here we are, depending on that to happen Saturday. At least I guess is what we are hoping for. Good luck to us.
