Apparently they save ~$5mil in cap space. 
 

They certainly won’t acquire an All-Pro for 5mil. I guess they’re starting the Tank for Drake or Caleb early.

He was due $12M, 7 dead cap and they save 5. They're $15M over. They have so much money tied up in their top 6 players it's kinda crazy.

Yeah I think they're facing the reality that Stafford is cooked, Donald keeps flip flopping on retirement, Ramsey might get traded..
