Yes most important which is why you dont draft bad ones.Building the rest of the team with good players is how a team wins and builds longterm success. That isnt how most teams fail at all.

Who said we would draft a bad one? I trust Reich to decide who is good and bad over people on this board. If we draft them then we clearly think they are good enough to be our QB of the future. The report says Reich and Company may like Levis the most, I may have other opinions on Levis but they were hired to fix the QB situation and if that's the way they decide to do it great.

End of day drafting a QB unlocks a plethora of benefits including the ability to bolster other positions by leveraging his Rookie deal, along with the majority of the time QB stability for at least a few years as he proves out his abilities. Reich was brought in to fix the QB position, I'll trust him until he screws it up.

You'll wait for what? We dont get to make any of these decisions. Reich was hired so he could fix the QB position. If he doesn't he'll probably get the axe like most coaches who fail at what they were hired for. He definitely wasn't paid to draft a LB with the 9th pick and skip QB because the internet doesn't like a certain one.

So, I've watched more of Levis and I don't know what scouts are seeing.

The guy constantly overthrows his receivers, cannot navigate a pocket, looks flustered for entire games and even sort of has bad hands — for a quarterback. He has an atrocious offensive line, but he hardly ever even attempts to climb the pocket, he just waddles around or bails. In fact, a lot of the time he doesn't even take a step forward.

What does Will Levis have then? Size? Arm strength? He's like a less athletic Sam Darnold that doesn't have the scramble ability.

Check out his previous year. He was playing injured this year with an awful OL and his OC sucked so bad he was fired before the season was over. He isn’t my top choice, but there is definitely potential there similar to Richardson.

I have watched games from both years.

How's your endorsement of Zach Wilson working out for ya btw?

Better than the bullsh-t stories you've been trying to spread, especially since I didn't endorse Wilson...or any quarterback from that draft. They all had red flags.

My concern with Wilson was that he might be too fragile.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
