I don't see in the article where it mentions Irsay anywhere.  BTW this article is not the one I posted in another thread a week or two ago.

Irsay made the call to trade Wentz and irsay made the call to trade for another vet ultimately Ryan.   Thats reported as fact as there is damn video of him saying as much

Did Reich ever get a QB he wanted when he was with the Colts?

He started off with Luck already there, added Brissett. Tried to rebuild Wentz but it didn't work.

The Colts didn't use a top draft pick on one while he was coach. Word was Reich wanted to but the team stuck with veterans.

Again, I will totally admit Wentz is a nutso headcase that is physically broken at this point and totally tanked the last 2 games of 2021 but having said that he had a pretty damn good year under reich.  Pretty clear that druggie Irsay made another unhinged decision instead of just rolling with reich/wentz for one more season.   Feels a bit tepper/teddy esque

Goddamn dude you would trade to acquire him and not let him hit the free market

Why would you give up picks to get a QB that is going to be released.

I never said he was for sure going to be our QB.  I don't know what Reich, Fitterer and Tepper want.  Someone in that group may not want a retread QB.  I was saying the Colts tried 3x to get him.  You asked for proof so you got it.

I do believe he is an option.

You move the goal post when you ask for something and you get your answer.

A random blogger isnt proof.  And if they wanted carr they would have done like the saints did and bring him in to talk things over, we didnt.  If we were interested why wouldnt we at least bring him in when would could have acquired him 100% instead of letting him do a tour and getting into a bidding war?

Derek had no interest in cooperating with the Raiders once they benched him with two games remaining in the 2022 season and he didn't have to w/a no trade clause in his contract.

Also, there is virtually no doubt that Carr will be signed to a substantial contract by one of the better teams in search of a QB during the next month or so.  He's in the driver's seat w/no need to rush.

Most teams likely realized Carr had no intention of approving a trade.

But teams didnt know that at the time, he just chose to fuged the raiders at the end.  If he would met with the saints he would have met with us if we wanted him.   If reich and co really really likes carr as dave suggests then he would be a panther on 2/19.  They would have found a way instead of letting him hit free agency whereas now as you allude aint no damn way he is coming here without a lights out offer
