Torrence, huh? Interesting.....

possible.  Remember we just hired our first offensive minded coach, and he's already stated we have a good defense, and he wants a good offense.  He's gonna get a QB at one, and he may be thinking we need to protect him, and he's right.

If there are no WRs left, and with two of our IOL recovering from serious injures, he might choose to solidify the line. Worked for the Saints with Brees...you get your QB, you protect him.  Saints spent an incredible amount of draft capitol plus big contracts to protect their QB.

I'd love a CB or edge, but understand if it's OL.  A prior poster suggested that a guard wouldn't play a snap his rookie year.  We started Icky last year as a rookie....he was a top 10 pick but he also played a much harder position at LT.  We wouldn't even play Gross at LT his rookie season, instead playing him at RT or guard, can't remember.

We'll all have to adjust our thinking to an offensive minded coach.

Which honestly  makes me wonder also about a possible tight end there. It's a chance that Kincaid  and Washington  are there and I'm sure they will have high grades. Washington  also checks off weapon and protection.  There will be a good/possible starter at 39.

You take best player available that’s what the drafts for never draft for need

Agree with this. But I can’t help but think need factors into final selections.  Not sure how the sausage gets made but I think if 2-3 players are close you go with the one that fills the ”need”.  Certainly don’t think it’s wise to reach tho.

Better options at 39: DJ Turner, Keanu Benton, Darnell Washington, Cam Smith, Josh Downs.

We’ve got a great offensive line coach and just brought back every starter. We can add depth on the line later in the draft.

I think Turner and Downs are legit. I get the upside on Washington but man, reminds me of another potential TE on our squad. Thought Tremble was a bad pick, one more year to prove me wrong.

I think they’re pretty different prospects Tremble has pretty normal tight end traits. Washington’s physical advantages are going to give him a reason to be on the field from day one. He just has a much higher floor than most tight end at draft time.

I agree. Not the same specimens of course but still a projection.
