Canes 1st round playoff scenarios

Check me on this please in case I’m missing something! I’ve read the latest news and all I see is talk about Canes playing either Rangers or Panthers first round, but looking at the standings it seems possible Canes could end up playing the Islanders. The scenarios:

Scenario 1

If Canes lose to the Panthers Thursday and NJD beat the Capitals then it’s clear that Canes would play the Rangers in the 1st round.

Scenario 2

Looking at the current Wild Card standings, it appears to me that if the Islanders beat Montreal today and the Canes beat The Panthers Thursday, Islanders would move up from WC2 to WC1 and Canes would play the Islanders 1st round.  Bruins would play the Panthers who would drop down to WC2.

Scenario 3

If Canes beat the Panthers and Islanders lose to Montreal today the Panthers would remain at WC1 and Canes would play Panthers 1st round. Bruins would play the Islanders.

Well I want a win as well, but will be pulling for the Islanders today to win 2 points in regulation since Scenario 2 would be the best matchup to give the Canes a good playoff start.
Panthers have been hot as of late winning 6 of their last 7 games.

So after tonight. If the islanders lose Florida will be the 7 seed no matter what. If the islanders win, pens are out but Florida would be fighting for the 7 seed still. So… go Montreal?

Id rather see the Canes play the Islanders than follow up with a seven game series against Florida, assuming the canes beat Florida Thursday and Montreal wins tonight.

But then again like Panthers Fan said, just win Thursday. Any team is better for the Canes to play than the Rags.

I just hope Rod actually practices us 2-3 times after Thursday. And really hope we are the on the Tuesday draw. That way we can have 3 solid practices and 1.5 days of rest plus a practice before the game. I think that’s been one of our biggest issues. This team performs better when they practice.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
