JR just responded to the situation differently.  He could have acted like Snyder but he agreed to sell the team instead.  They can't really force anyone out if that person is willing to be a pariah.

JR knew they had the votes to force him out. Makes me believe that somehow they didn't for Snyder.

Richardson got pretty bitter about it shortly before the end.

Probably because he didn't get the price he thought he could get but I also kinda got the impression he didn't necessarily want to sell to Tepper.

Tepper has since all but erased Richardson from Panthers history.

I didn't realize a 3/4 majority could remove an owner.  That's unreal that they couldn't get a 3/4 vote for Snyder.  Really gives you some perspective on the nature of most of the owners in the NFL.

Class solidarity amongst the super rich is incredibly entrenched.

Didn't work for Richardson.

He floated the idea of an internal investigation, likely thinking that the league would back him up. They didn't.

Snyder? It's hard to understand, but one possibility might be that some other owners don't want the skeletons in their closets to come out.

Richardson really didn't fit the league anymore. League owners have gone from being ridiculously wealthy people to being ridiculously wealthy people even in comparison to ridiculously wealthy people. We're talking about some of the very wealthiest people on the planet.

I mean yeah that much seems clear.

They'll stick with you as long as it remains advantageous, and the vast majority of the time it's most advantageous to keep that class solidarity, lest ye be taken down as well.
