Ya, round one is always done by regional broadcasters. It’s round two you have to sync up the radio broadcast if you want Mike & Tripp.

I’ve tried that, using the Canes ap online radio there’s always a big delay so it doesn’t synch with cable tv. Maybe I will try to find out if there’s a local Charlotte station that carry’s Canes games with less delay.

Darn good question, I certainly hope so. Regular season we have a very good road win record, the same was true in the 2021-2022 season. Yet we had no road wins in 2022 playoffs, and just 2 in two rounds of the 2021 playoffs.

Time to change that and get some playoff road wins.

Last change has been our bane, or we put too much emphasis on it. Not really sure which or both.

Well we did beat Florida on the road to win the metro so there’s that. And that game was and felt like a playoff game.

Very true, and we scored 4 regular goals plus the two empty netters doing it. Score 3-4 goals a game and I think we win the series.

Freddie gave up some of goals he should have had (per Rod “Freddie had some good saves and some m sure he wanted back”.) I saw 2 goals Freddie should have had and another maybe, and I put one GA on the rest of the team for a giveaway. Keep in mind thought we held them to 2 goals until they pulled their goalie early and played 6-4 for a minute and then 6 on 5.

Looking at the competition-

Bo Horvat acquired by Islanders from Vancouver for a $68 million 8 year contract (he’s 28) at the TDL. That’s a pricey long term contract for someone who will be 36 in their 8th year.

Horvat has 38 goals, 32 assists in 70 regular season games, most of that with Vancouver. With the Islanders in 30 games he had 7 goals and 9 assists. Against the Canes April 2nd he had 0 goals and 0 points.

He has solid playoff experience, with Vancouver in the 2020 playoffs 17 games played he had 10 goals and 2 assists.

So that’s a look at paying out for a big contract- I think it helped save the Islanders season but will it make the difference in the playoffs?

Heres some of the rest of the Islander players stats.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
