Just enough time to switch profiles. Alt confirmed? Honestly, if we’re going to make rep a thing here, some people should have their privileges removed. These 2 losers just follow me around and poo for no reason.

I'm a big fan of the ignore feature for situations like that. 🙂

nfldraftbreakdown was the site and it was amazing. Now its still something draft related but not worth anyones time.  Had more than just QB't too, some maniacs took the time to cut up the games to just snaps WR's just blocked in or were targeted.  Same for other positions too.

Luckily, as I am sure you know(but sharing for those that don't ) now days you can still find most of the same stuff on YouTube by typing a players name vs opponent. For example "Bryce Young Vs Tennessee"

I also agree with you that the best way to get an idea of a prospect is to actually watch whatever game footage you can find online that showcases how they do throughout entire games vs just highlights. Takes only a few more minutes to watch 4-5 entire games than you just watching 1-2 highlight videos so well worth the investment. I also appreciate the advanced stats too, because it forces me to go back and watch if it doesn't align with my original thoughts.

Agreed. I think Young's highlights kind of do him a disservice if you don't watch Alabama or college football in general. Most of those highlights have him extending plays for 5 to 6 seconds. It gives the expression that he can't make the routine plays from the pocket.

I would also suggest if you have time watch a full game. That's where you notice the number of pre-snap protection and adjustments he made. I think Saban mentioned giving him 2 plays before the snap then Young will read the defense and make the play call. Does are the little things you don't see on the highlight video or all passes video that matrer.

Very good point. Just don't have time go back and watch the full versions.

It's worth noting that the lack of explosive plays for Bama this past season was likely due to them not having a speedster at WR to act as their deep threat. Tyler Harrell transferred in from Louisville and was supposed to be that player for them but he didn't see the field until late October against Mississippi State due to a foot injury that plagued him all season.

That left Jermaine Burton (who played the role of their X after transferring in from Arkansas), Ja'Corey Brooks, Traeshon Holden, and Kobe Prentice to be the main four WRs. Prentice has speed, but he was also a freshman learning the offense.

Couple that with how poorly the Alabama OL played and I can understand the lower explosive play percentage.

Yeah.  I'd love to see these numbers for 2021 season.

    • Depends, if we would have hired Wilkes and kept darnold were probably be right about where we are now. An average team fighting for a winning record and nfcs crown
    • And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce.  Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly.  Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson  This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen  Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth
    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
