For the millionth time +1 now, I have never said not to be excited. You can't/won't even keep the facts of my comments straight, something that often points to being unreasonable.

I have nothing more to say here. Your argument is wrong/position is limited, you continue twisting my words, and you seem to be willfully keeping it that way.

About 'scouting' Reich, the specific topic of this thread? Yes, that's a single soundbyte.

And come on, man... it's OTAs/camp. It's fine to be happy he's here but it's glorified walkthrough. Dude has literally zero actual NFL action yet and some folks are talking like he's already showing All-Pro on field. It's just way out of proportion to the reality. Positive, sure, but next to nothing in actual football scale.

You sound exactly like my brother in law. Everything he says is perfectly logical and sensible. Everything other people say, unless they agree with him of course, is irrational or just plain silly. And he, like you, cannot understand why ppl don't automatically agree with him.

You cherry pick what you want, but we have been hearing positive things since the day Reich was hired. It's not just ONE sound bite. It's MONTHS of positive sound bites, and they just keep coming.

Here's what you oh so reasonable ppl are missing. We are excited because for the first time in years, we have hope. Fans + Hope = Excitement. Now you can poo poo it all you want. But you are not going to get anyone to "Temper their Expectations".

There is excitement in Pantherland. And the few of you reasonable ppl trying to temper that, sound arrogant and annoying.

This is one of those topics that has no middle ground. You are either with us, or you are missing out.

Edit to add; I realize @rayzor has pretty much shown you the door. But your stance is so rigid I couldn't resist throwing more shade at it/you.

It's twue, it's twue. lol

As someone who has been on both sides of that fence. I can tell you is it easy to be excited when you're happy, and just as easy to be negative when you're not.

Happy trumps not every time.

Can I be? I know I shouldn't, but it’s so much fun.  I don't care if I may get called out for it. It's about damn time we had some semblance of hope around this place!

if we don't dance now, when can we? if this whole thing flops, at least i had this summer of hope and optimism.

i've had years of hopelessness and apathy. Why the hell wouldn't anyone want to take a chance on this and feel good about it all?

Please point me to a single place where I actually said folks shouldn't be excited at all/in any way, shape, or form, or that I'm unhappy.

Hint: you won't find any. But don't let something like a little reality halt the make-believe narratives being projected.

No, you're right. You've haven't told us that we can't be delusional unreasonable fans. All you've done is preached that we're not thinking right.

Abd we all thank you for letting us know that we have a ways to go before we are good levelheaded and reasonable fans like you.

Please continue to try and set us and our expectations right. Maybe one day we'll learn not to be excited.

Ultimately I agree. Be excited! After having ridden a milquetoast merry-go-round of cast off vet QBs we have a #1 overall pick QB to get excited about! The last time we had one of those he worked out pretty well and it led us to the best stretch of football in Panthers' history. Plus a new coaching staff chockful of NFL experience after being led by a band of morons under Matt Rhule.

Am I concerned about Bryce Young being the size of a middle school QB? Hell yeah I am. Anyone with two brain cells to run together is. You'd never get the Panthers to admit it but they are too. You can bet your ass they spent countless hours having heated debates about it.

At the end of the day, the Panthers thought he was worth jumping up to #1 to go get him and we did. That's exciting.

If you're not more excited now than you have been in years then I don't know what to tell you.

I'll readily admit that I'm excited as all get out. And that I have been trying to get others excited as well. So, in a way I am trying to tell folks how to fan. However, I am doing so out of happiness. I want my fellow Huddlers to be as happy as I, and a whole lot of others, are.

Unlike the "You need to slow your roll crowd" who seem to be doing so out of some self-serving need to steer the narrative to their whim. They are doing so for themselves. Whereas us "Let's party like it's 1999 crowd" are doing so to share excitement with others.

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
