Stevens is a piece of poo and deserved it

Stevens is now my league MVP and a 1st ballot HOF'er even though I have never heard of him.

EDIT: Just saw this 'allegedly' happened on "Greek Row" seriously I would have thought you were supposed to do the same thing with a name like that.

Brayton fits our system and has done a very good job. He is even suited for a 3-4 if we go that way. In many ways he is perfect to keep no matter what we do. Given he is cheap as well, it really is a no brainer to keep him.

This world is full of surprises. Can't believe we agree....but hey....what do I know.

Look out for the sun falling tomorrow folks. :D

Brayton is not going anywhere, I actually expect all the DE's to return. I see Everette Brown, Tyler Brayton, Charles Johnson, Julius Peppers, and Hilee Taylor all returning next year. To keep these guys I expect them to cut some slack at the CB position, possibly getting rid of C.J. Wilson.

Other players that I don't want to see back include

Kelvin Smith

Charly Martin

Garry Williams

A.J. Feeley

Quinton Culberson

Jordan Senn

C.J. Davis

He said that’s due, in large part, to finding an inner peace.

“I think it’s because I’ve changed a little bit of my perspective,” Brayton said. “I’m out there trying to play for the glory of God instead of trying to go out and play for results, results, results. It’s been a really neat change in my perspective. It’s allowed me to go out and enjoy each and every game and each and every play and let the chips fall where they may. So it’s been an enjoyable season.”

Brayton said he realized after Carolina’s 12-4 season a year ago that he’d never be happy playing football until he’s happy as a person.

I profess to be a Christian. I profess Jesus Christ to be my savior, but football was an area of my life I never completely gave up to God,” Brayton said. “I always said, ‘This is my thing and I want to do it my way. I want to rely on my own ability to go out here and play.’ When I came here to Carolina we started having success (last year) and I had success individually, but inside I still felt a little empty.

After reading that quote I have gained a newfound respect for him...and he even says he really wants to be here...AND he plays balls out!?!? Ummm am I missing something?

Keeping all the DEs assumes we stay with a 4-3. If we go 3-4, there will ne major changes at DE and linebacker as well.

he's actually not a fit for the 3-4. If anything he did in Oakland or the time he wasted there was any indication. They had him at 3-4 DE, didn't work. They even put him, at 275, at OLB. Didn't work. Who saw that coming. The prototypical 4-3 DE works best at 4-3 DE. Who knew...Oakland wasted years of this guy's career trying to fit him in a square hole.

I like Brayton. I'm surprised Johnson didn't beat him, but both of them are fantastic ends who get a lot of pressure but are missing that hair of a second faster jump that make elite ends the elite ends. If we had to start Johnson and Brayton, I'd be OK with that.

Truth is, people want to bash the crap out of Marty Hurney, but he manufactured a 12-4 season out of one trade, one pick, and picking up guys on the super-cheap like Brayton and Muhammad that made a huge difference.
