There fans have seen what their team can do, to the tune of two Super Bowl’s in the past five years.

I’d suspect some Panther fans just wanted to see a glimmer of potential and they didn’t even get that.

I get we wanted to see something, but people are getting ready to write off the season of this one preseason game. The biggest issue yesterday was the OL playing like poo. Well we literally have the same starters and OL coach as last year who have shown us they are a solid unit. That part logically should get corrected and play better during the regular season.

That’s the hope. I was telling my family that I’m chalking it up to a lot of guys looking like they just didn’t want to be out there. The feels like temp was damn near 100 degrees and the turf makes it 10-15 degrees hotter.

Guys in here laying it on a little thick trying to polish up that turd from yesterday. Chiefs fans obviously know it's only preseason. They've got the track record and hardware the last several years in the regular/post season to back it up. Whereas the Panthers...well... we know.

I could see that. I’m just not overly concerned about our OL judging by the players and coach. They are already proven in this league. Sure they could be rusty, or overheated, or running some vanillla offense but they should be fine throughout the regular season. The main issue to me is we weren’t able to make good judgements on new players/depth players on offense because the OL poo the bed.

The whole point is the first preseason game doesn’t dictate the whole season. The Super Bowl favorites starters were just outmatched and no one cares nor should they. If it’s a continued theme over the next few preseason games then yeah that could be a red flag.

I’m confident we are a good team this year. Just sucks we saw basically nothing to validate that.

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
