I find it hilarious that anyone on a fan message board should question a person's ability to empathize with a person they've never met.

"I can follow a team and root for people I've never met to succeed in their careers and live vicariously through them, but I'll be damned if I'll feel remorse for them when they die (even though death is quite possibly the one thing that links every single one of us)."

lol you live vicariously through football players you're pathetic

I just talked to my next door neighbor and she said she goes to church with the girlfriend and girlfriends parents. She talked to the parents about an hour ago but all she told them was she going to bring them dinner tonight and tomorrow, where praying for you yada yada.

I think everyone on this board, yourself included, lives vicariously through the Panthers in a way. Anyone who does something as simple as cheering for the Panthers is living vicariously through them.

That you are on a Carolina Panthers forum is proof-positive of your emotional connection with the team, whether you like it or not.

emotional connection =/= living vicariously

Either way, it's pretty ridiculous to poke fun at a situation that's obviously very serious. If you're able to laugh about it, that's fine, but most people don't see it that way.

In that scenario, it's probably best if you keep those kinds of remarks to yourself.

I like to picture myself with big angel wings singing lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd...

nah it would have to be someone who had died on the road

so it's like chris henry, the dude from metallica, and that drummer from Def Leppard's right arm

lol do you think i sit there and imagine im on the field getting picked off by linebackers

No, but I bet when a pick is thrown you react with anger and disappointment just as the player who threw it does. Likewise, you're probably happy when that player throws a touchdown pass.

You are feeling the same emotions as the players, and yet you had nothing to do with their successes or failures. That's vicarious, even if you're not imagining yourself in their position literally.

    • 5 straight completions in the 4th quarter to get into the red zone and then score a stand up rushing TD and celly in one of the best defenses faces to bring the score within 1 possession against the super bowl champs is "stunned" to you?
    • yes, if you read what I said - that was due to his record breaking 245 yard 4th quarter performance in garbage time when the Seahawks were already celebrating. If Bryce puts up big numbers in the 4th quarter, people like you are quick to call it garbage time stats but seem to get selective when other QB's do it because it doesn't fit your narrative.  also, I'm logical enough to admit that Drake is a great QB and his performance had a lot to do with his protection, play calling, and other aspects. The game does not fall completely on the QB. Just like how the Panthers were still in the game vs Seattle until Horn's penalty changed that. It is a team sport, so many factors, players, refs, coaches are involved and it only takes one thing to change the game. the obsession with Bryce is just nauseating at this point and if you pay attention on here, it's the same 10 users quoting and pieing each other. it's super weird and everywhere else you go, opinions on Bryce are trending upwards. the way the season ended, the vibe at the stadium, the performance, should have everyone excited about this next season. Idk, maybe I just look at life and my entertainment outlets differently than others.
    • Are we sure something hasnt happened to him because that seems pretty shitty to simply abandon this place
