It’s more like Burns dominated them the first half so they had to completely change their game plan. They basically shutdown their passing game because of Burns, doubled him on runs and got away with it because our offense kept shooting itself in the foot. A player than can change the opponents game plan than much had a hell of a game.

He is basically on pace for 25.5 sacks and people are critiquing his 2nd half. Bosa meanwhile had 0 sacks and the Steelers were trailing most of the game so there were more opportunities.

Most of what I was saying was based more on their careers thus far, not just one game.

No. Because they are quick to sht on players for no reason. OMG Burns wants to get paid. All of a sudden he's overrated, etc. Take your issues elsewhere I'm not interested in going back and forth with you.

Sounds as if you have the issues there buddy. Apparently by what you are saying anybody who has an opinion that differs from yours MUST be crapping on something or someone for no reason. Relax cupcake, it is possible that others do have an opinion that is either slightly different or completely different from yours and it is even possible for their opinions to have some sort of substance without just wanting to poo on players as you lump them all in. Take a deep breath and relax. You might even try going to have a bowel movement, as you sound cranky constipated.

Burns, as good a pass rusher as he is at times, has been one-dimensional and not made plays at critical times his entire career. This has been discussed for years and is just more prominent now given the contract spotlight. Burns should go for all he can get, sure, but it can make things contentious for fans that put the team over the individual players that come and go.

I get it. I understand how it works. I also have read the Bosa vs Burns stats. Fitts didn't move him. He has to pay him.

He's playing. He hasn't said anything wrong. Highlighting his performance and positive things other people say about him is far from being contentious.

I'm saying that Burns aggressively pursuing that top dollar can lead to a negative perception with some fans, as with any other player on any other team. It's not necessarily right or fair but is what it is, and it definitely sparks conversations about a player's perceived value.

Agree 100% with the bold - the team has zero leverage here and hasn't since the trade was declined.

How do you not trade your players while not not killing leverage? Do you have to accept all trades? That's what I've been confused about.

    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
    • They have all the rookies. The DC game has Ron though. With the new QB. It is weird.  pantherclaw, Bryce sort of is what he is, and in Madden he makes throws the real Bryce can’t make. Here and there. He ain’t ain’t a top QB in Madden though, lots of picks. aone of them lol was the throw that scares the hell out of me when he throws it, out to the boundary... quack quack.
