So you'd still take Bryce even if he ends up being unimpressive in the NFL because of pre-draft opinions and test scores? I've seen some dumb arguments on here but this about takes the cake.

Ugh… just thinking about if he’s “unimpressive” is no fun. Would be so so so much wasted capital during the Rhule-Reich era’s.

Don't get me wrong, I really want him to be. But it's definitely not a slam dunk. No such thing as a sure thing in the NFL draft.

I'm tired of hearing about him being a football savant and a "super processor" and all this jazz. I want to SEE it.

That’s why last weeks game sucked as much as it did

Bryce wasn’t picked 1st due to his physical tools. He went 1st because of what you said. Yes it was his first game but man those interceptions were BAD. That would be like Anthony Richardson coming out and throwing a few balls that looked like that ball The Golden Calf of Bristol threw in practice (Can’t embed gif but everyone knows what I’m talking about)

Agreed. His physical toolset is marginal. He HAS to be a super processor to be elite on the NFL.

Unimpressive as in no "wow" factor that most everyone here was complaining about after week 1? I have already stated last week that i don't care about the WoW factor that many seem to get turn on for.

I hope Bryce average around 100 yards passing in his pro career so he doesn't worn it out without a single 300+ game to his name because passing yards does not translate to winning. Anyone who disagrees just don't know MUCH about winning football games. It's all about making smart plays even with a weak noodle arm, nothing else matters!!!!

Those who raves so much about CJ 300 yards passing game yesterday likely drool over Winston 300 yards passing in the 1st half alone with that bazooka arm of his even tho his first pass in that game was a pick 6 Lol

There's no correlation between passing yardage and winning football games?

This just keeps getting better. 😂

Than you should have just signed Winston for just pennies off the dollars as I think he's still looking to be signed in order to save all those picks and keep DJ cause passing yards seem to matter to you guys so much. He will get them in bunches so everyone here can go WOW after he zings it.

Denverworld is a sad place. "Sean Payton has been an unmitigated disaster through two weeks'

Sean Payton’s halftime adjustments were once again subpar. And his performance in the waning moments was laughable.

The Broncos were down 11 points when they got the ball back with 7:11 to play in the game. They didn’t go up temp. They didn’t have any sense of urgency. Instead, they methodically marched down the field, as Washington happily let them burn clock. Denver took 5:21 to kick a field goal that cut the lead to eight points.

Not scoring before the two-minute warning was an egregious error. Having to use a timeout after taking a sack on third-and-goal was the height of ineptitude.

But it didn’t end there. After scoring on a 50-yard hail mary as time expired, the Broncos had a chance to force overtime with a two-point conversion. Most teams have a play drawn up for just such a situation. They seem to be wide open more often than not. Denver ran a chaotic mess that wound up in an incompletion, although pass interference probably should’ve been called.

What was Payton’s reaction? Nothing. He stood emotionless on the sidelines.

A chance for a miraculous win went up in smoke. Payton reacted less than patrons at Starbucks when they run out of pumpkin spice lattes.

Add it all up and it’s a colossal disappointment. And it’s on the head coach.

His choice for defensive coordinator is a disaster. Everyone saw that coming.

His lack of in-game adjustments have been problematic. He’s been outcoached by Josh McDaniels and Ron Rivera to start the season.

And his inability to call up the right play in the crucial moment was disappointing. His giant playsheet needed one more line on it.

A lot of people in Broncos Country wanted an experienced head coach. They got one. But his seasoning doesn’t seem to be paying any dividends.

Vance Joseph’s defense was awful. That should come as a surprise to no one.

The defensive coordinator wasn’t good in Miami in that role. He wasn’t in Arizona, either. And as the Broncos head coach during the 2017 and ’18 seasons, the team regressed on that side of the ball.

So far this season, VJ’s group has been picked apart by Jimmy Garoppolo and Sam Howell. A week after recording zero sacks against the Raiders, they failed to force a turnover against the Commanders.

They don’t make plays. They can’t get stops. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Not all of it is on Joseph, however. The players are also to blame.

Justin Simmons makes big money. He’s done nothing in two weeks.

Pat Surtain is arguably the Broncos best player. He makes zero impact, as teams can easily avoid a cornerback and simply pick on others.

Randy Gregory finally had a sack. But the team’s highest-paid pass rusher was missing in action in the second half, mirroring his performance from a week ago.

Another season down the drain. And it’s only mid-September.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
