well, the rotation part was bs and Fox had no intention of doing that.....kinda like when he claimed twice earlier in the year he would evaluate in practice to see he would start at QB (yet he declared Jake both times the starter before the 1st practice of the week). :(

i think he said he would evaluate film.

i think he said he would evaluate film.

No, after the horrific Jake games he twice said he would into the next week and evaluate in practice who would get the next start. Then the following day and prior to any practice snaps he would always say the film showed it was a group effort and Jake is the starter.

What Fox said postgame was bs....as he had no intention of ever evaluating them in practice and clearly didn't. Same stuff he said about using a rotation at S......he had no intention of doing that either.

He did use the rotation for one game. Then switched, it isnt just luck that Godfry is playing better. Switching Martin when he was stellar, Fox obviously had faith and knowledge in Godfry that he would perform well, and he was right.

What game did he rotate them?

there was little doubt what would happen.....and Fox confirmed his stereotype is more than that and is simply what he does regardless of prodcution.

Fox switched to Godfry because he believed he would be play well. Godfry is playing well.

So just maybe Fox, acutally knew what he was doing.

I was just asking a question...you said he did rotate them....which game was that?

a couple games w/ some forced fumbles is far from showing the overall instinct and overall ability at the position that Martin did imo. Godfrey's tackling has looked leaps and bounds better in recent weeks.....but at the end of the day two Chris Harris' at S ain't that good of a thing.

I must say I think Sherrod has changed this guy and maybe showed him how to play a little bit of safety. Looks much more physical out there than before. I still think Martin should be the starter though.

Thoughts?

I don't think he neccesarily showed Godfrey how to play, I think it was more of Godfrey knowing he has to put in the effort. Godfrey is capable of being a fine ball player, but only when he gives the effort. After Sherrod Martin stepped in and played the game with all his heart, will, and desire, I think Godfrey started to feel heat and pressure. He knew after Martin got his 3rd pick that he would have to fight for his starting spot, and boy has he not disappointed since. I am beginning to really like the Defensive Backs we have in place, and I would not be against rotating Marshall, Godfrey, and Martin. I believe Godfrey played Corner Back in college, so why not let Marshall get some rest when needed and Godfrey can replace him and then Martin can step into the Safety position. Or when Godfrey gets tired Martin can just rotate in for him. However, I do believe C.J. Wilson and Quinton Teal need to be let go, and Richard Marshall should be re-signed.

Beast Hit --->

Defensive Backs

Corner Back- Chris Gamble

Corner Back- Richard Marshall

Corner Back- Captain Munnerlyn

Corner Back- Dante Wesley

Saftey- Chris Harris

Corner Back/Safety- Charles Godfrey

Corner Back/Safety- Sherrod Martin

Then cut Quinton Teal who is a saftey and C.J. Wilson who is a Cornerback, and look at bringing in a couple of free agents to take their spots.

Ah I assumed it was in the Tampa game. I was incorrect.

Regardless, in the last three games he's started weve very well passing defence wise.

Freeman did have 321 yards but 5 picks and no touchdowns

Brady didnt have 200 yards and only 1 touchdown.

Farve had 224 yards and no tocuhdowns with a atleast 30-40 yards yards coming from that screen pass late in the game.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
