Dude, I'm not insulted, but just like I told another guy who conveniently used this exact same report, elite arm strength does NOT mean that Bryce has a noodle arm. It also doesn't mean that he has an "average" arm (that depends upon definition). I guess "good" velocity doesn't really mean "good," it means "average." Come on, dude.

Now seriously, I gotta go to bed. No offense or insults meant or taken.

I never said he had a noodle. It’s just average. It’s not elite.

There's a baseball scale that some use for arm strength.  80-20 scale.

Mahomes and the other elite arm QB's are a 70 or higher on the scale. Bryce Young's is measured between 40-50 on this scale.

Just to give some reference on his functional arm strength.

As a former minor leaguer I appreciate your baseball scale 🙂

I said pre-draft I was fine with Bryce, Stroud, or Richardson. I said that Bryce's arm was probably average at best but I convinced myself it was average. I was wrong. So far what we've seen is a well below average arm. We saw two plus arms tonight. That's an unfair comparison. But go watch the Goffs and Cousins of the world. That's NFL average. Bryce has considerably less arm talent than that based on what we've seen so far.

"Deep throws come out flat and lose energy late. The deep ball is nothing special and his drive velocity fails to stand out, but he has enough arm strength to make the necessary throws."

I can keep going. Nothing revisionist here, just simply pointing out one of his weaknesses were his deep ball and arm velocity.

It's literally listed as a weakness on each of these links.

I just think you aren’t understanding the argument. I can throw a football 50 yards as well. But when I do it mine has to hang a little longer because I don’t have a cannon for an arm. Players in baseball who throw 90 mph+ and players who can only throw 80 can both make a throw from center field to third base on the fly. But the guy who throws it 90+ can get it there faster.

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
