Top 10 Greatest Football Movies Ever Made

Dell's recent list was the Top 10 Greatest Football movies ever. Wanted to get everybody's thoughts on the list, do you agree with it? What movies should be higher? What movies should have been included in the Top 10?

Personally, I think Varsity Blues should be a little higher. Easily my favorite football movie, high school Quarterback who faces the adversity of "high school politics" in Texas football. Plus the blonde chick's whipped cream bikini ;)

How come no one ever mentions "The Best Of Times" on these lists? That is, in my opinion, the FUNNIEST football movie ever. Robin Williams and Kurt Russell are a hoot in it. If you haven't ever seen it, make it a point to rent it. The Encore movie channels are good for running it several times a year.

"Necessary Roughness" was pretty good too.

Haven't seen The Blindside yet, but no doubt in my mind, it doesn't matter how many more football movies come out, Rudy will always be #1. That is one of my favorite movies ever.

I've heard great things about The Blindside as well.

Also, I thought Gridiron Gang was garbage when the previews first came out but one of my friends told me about it, so I checked it out and it is a great movie as well... I think it should be Top 10.

Both great movies. It's more of what makes it a better movie for each viewer, comedy that makes you bust a gut, or drama that moves you.

But you get different opinions in a subjective "top ten" post like this, no? ;)

It's not out yet, but I'm betting the farm it will be a doozie!

It's about the Cowbitches, and how they have fallen upon a 100 year streak without winning a Super Bowl. Starts off with them on a 14 year skid with no play off wins, tide turns a little, yet still no Super Bowl.

Not gonna spoil the ending for you guys.....but....100 year streak should give you some insight. It's kind of a softhearted merger of Brokeback Mountain, and the Dallas Cowboys. It could actually be considered a love story.

Coming soon to a theater near you.

:cheers2:

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
