Did the Saints win it, or did the Vikings lose it?

vikings lost it. ADP fumbles all day. they had that game won in the last two minutes and if they didn't have that false start and farve not thrown that INT, they would have won.

also, the saints won because of the stupid OT rules. those things are crap. only 1 team really gets a shot to score. in fairness the other team should get a chance to answer.

Brett throws it away again, everything else is window dressing. There were a few bad calls, sure, and the Vikes should be happy as hell they got the ball back after fumbling the times that they did. Not the Saints fault that they protected Brees as well as they did.

It was the Vikes to lose and they did.

While I agree with you, Carolina may never have made it to the Super Bowl were that the case.

Ah, but St. Louis lost that game -- the Panthers didn't win it.

Absolutely not true.

The Panthers vs Rams game went to Double OT. A second OT period continues with the team that had the posession at the end of the OT having posession at the beginning of the OT....much like between the 1st and 2nd qtrs.

Both teams had opportunities to win that game in OT.

Yes, but if you were going to take away the "sudden death" aspect of NFL overtime and allow the opposing team a drive after one team scores, then why wouldn't that also apply to double overtime?

You're correct. The St. Louis kicker missed his FG first...I think. If that's the case, then they lost it. If Kasay missed his first then we won it. I forget which happened though.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
