Dockett wants Peppers to join the Cards

I know we are Panther fans so we have to act like Pep slapped our mother or something.........but reality is Peppers handled that pretty dang professionally. He wanted out......he never said a word during the season. He waited until football was done and expressed in one statement how he felt......nothing more. That ain't throwing a team under the bus. Peppers has a job and you can't handle wanting to leave much better.

i'd take boldin and a 2nd quickly.

i'd even take pep for boldin straight up. better than letting pep walk or paying him $20mil next year.

2 Questions......in an uncapped year does it really matter how much we pay him?

and in an uncapped year some teams are forbidden from trading for or signing FA.......did the Cardinals reach that level?

No we have to keep Pep here!!

thank you, someone who realizes the importance of key players.

Although Breaston and a one would be pretty convincing. There aren't many guys like Pep that come around very often, he is not a leader or anything, but he does motivate when motivated, and when that happens, our defense is very good.

we don't have an unlimited supply of money and it's really just the principle. i think that all these guys are grossly overpaid for what they do but that $20mil for one year is crossing the line into the obscene. he just isn't worth it and i'd rather use that money to commit to other guys who are going to be here for a long time. that $20mil can easily go to pay 3 or 4 guys really well.

cards are part of the final eight plan that restricts what they can do in FA but they have a lot of FAs who could be heading out the door so i don't know that they will have a problem with the restrictions. still, a trade is going to be the easiest way for them to address the need they have at ROLB/RDE.

Do you think he still wants to be here?

    • Carolina Way is gone, it went out the window with the Belichick hiring. They'll hire the best coach they can, ignoring everything else if possible.    Athletic reports that the school's top two targets are Tommy Lloyd and Billy Donovan. They don't care the buyout for a coach either, they and the boosters are willing to spend and will be going outside of the coaching family tree 100%.
    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
