CHARLOTTE -- Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers was named to the NFL's All-Decade team, one of the 12 Pro Bowlers named to that squad.

Peppers has 81.0 sacks in eight seasons, all with Carolina.

The entire All-Decade team will be announced during ESPN's pre-Pro Bowl "Sunday NFL Countdown," special at 5:30 p.m.

It should be noted that the votes come from the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee. Which is Huge for Pep. he could end up being the Panthers first HOFer.

To bad the Panthers already have a Hall of Famer, REGGIE WHITE...Yea he could have gone in a Packer but in the Hall of Fame he's listed as a Panther..So Pep could be the 2nd DE going in for the Cats

The HOF lists all teams a player has played for. I don't count White as a real official Panther in the HOF.

No actually if you go to the Hall of Fame website, and go to Hall of Famers by team, Reggie WHite is listed as a Panthers HOF. What is so difficult to understand? When Peppers gets in they will say he is the Panthers second Hall of Famer. If you dont consider him one thats fine, but he really is there and theres no way to deny that. Call the Hall of Fame and tell them to remove him from the Panthers than if you feel so strongly about it. Im just stating the fact that the Panthers OFFICIALLY have a Hall of Famer already whether you like it or not..

Actually every player listed has each team they played for.

Case In Point Johnny Unitas is in the HOF as a Colt but is listed on the San Diego List

San Diego Chargers

(Los Angeles Chargers - 1960)

Lance Alworth (1962-1970)

Fred Dean (1975-1981)

Dan Fouts (1973-1987)

Sid Gillman (1960-1969, 1971)

Charlie Joiner (1976-1986)

David (Deacon) Jones (1972-1973)

Larry Little (1967-1968)

John Mackey (1972)

Ron Mix (1960-1969)

Johnny Unitas (1973)

Kellen Winslow (1979-1987)

Reggie White went into the Hall of Fame WITHOUT a team affliation. So techinally you are wrong. Reggie Played for Carolina but is NOT representing Carolina. Currently there are NO PLAYERS in the HOF that are sole affliated with CAROLINA.

If Peppers goes to the HOF and chooses Carolina he will be OUR 1st.

NFL | R. White will enter Hall of Fame with no team affiliation

Tue, 01 Aug 2006 23:36:18 -0700

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Hall of Fame DL Reggie White will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame without a team affiliation. On the stage where induction speeches take place, White's mural will feature a portrait and an action shot. He will wear a Green Bay Packers uniform in one and a Philadelphia Eagles uniform in the either. Hall of Fame vice president of communications Joe Horrigan did not go into details on the layout of the mural, but said the three NFL teams White played for would be represented.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
