How is Hollywood now a proven talent?  He has had a solid year with some bad QB play.  We need speed and YAC.  Brown fits that role.  Brown and AT compliment each other and Tez brings speed/size/hands which is something we also need.  Brown, AT, Tez, and Mingo is a nice core if we get a coach that uses them correctly.

Higgins is a great big bodied WR, but he isn't a speedster that will stretch the field.  While Higgins is better, Brown is a better fit and should be cheaper.

Brown isn’t a number 1 has never “consistently” performed as a number 1.. Has a injury history and only has 1 skill set..

The number don’t lie..

And the rookie thing is good when you have a established QB.. When you don’t you need to bring in a top tier vet to figure out what you have and help build confidence in your rookie.. With how bad this season has gone.. BY will need multiple dependable vet weapons to build him back up..

And the major benefit of having a rookie QB on a rookie contract is you can spend more to  surround him with proven talent.. Trying to develop another Wr when you haven’t developed your QB is another major mistake this team could make..

T. Higgins, M. Pittman, M. Brown, and C. Ridley will likely be retained by their current teams.

A more likely list:

  • Mike Evans (current age 30.2)
  • Tyler Boyd (29.0)
  • Curtis Samuel (27.2)
  • Kendrick Bourne (28.2)
  • Gabe Davis (24.6)
  • KJ Osborn (26.4)
  • DJ Chark (27.1)

And just like that.....we are still screwed....

...wait till they get here.... u'll see....BTW...Bryce ain't it...so keep investing in no return...

Whatever dude..

Chioce has been made and you have to surround the kid with something and see what you have..

You can’t keep putting him out with some bs and hoping he makes chicken salad out of it..

You made the investment now you have to figure out ways to make it work..

Sitting on your ass bitching about it isn’ a option.. Cutting ties after 1 year isn’t a option..

Stop Cincy can’t pay everybody at some point they have to let a player go..

And Higgins also wants to be a number 1 not a number 2 to chase his whole career..

Please no FA Tight Ends already paying Hurst 10 mill next year plus Ian Thomas and his dumbass contract. Tremble has honestly looked solid this year, when the passing game is complete hose poo it’s hard for many people to show out. Personally I would be really interested in Tyler Boyd, would be a quarter the price of Higgens and is a proven vet with good production.

Agreed. TE is Hurst and Tremble next season (I expect Ian to get cut). You can maybe grab a cheap vet or a rookie, but we aren't getting out of Hurst's contract until after next season.

Cincy has more cap space than us over the next 2 seasons. If we can afford Higgins and Burns they can easily afford Higgins and Chase.

Gabe Davis for me.

Young <25yo

Cheaper (projected ~12.5mil per)

6’3

Could instantly be our best skill position player next year unless Theilen maintains his play in the slot.

Lock him up 4-5 years and we would still have plenty of cap to add to the WR room.

Higgins has been battling injuries all year.  We need to stretch the field and I'm not sure he alone will do that.  Brown can stretch it and so can Tez.  Double dip with a FA and a high draft pick.  Our offense lacks speed so the defense gets to stack the box.

Higgins was drafted for Burrow as a rookie.  Downs was looking great for AR before AR got hurt.  Dell is looking great for Stroud (he is a speedster as well).  Pickens was drafted to help Pickett.  Drafting a rookie WR to help your young QB is pretty common we just drafted the wrong one.  We drafted one that can't stretch the field or create separation right now in Mingo.  Tez is the opposite.  Mingo is better suited in the slot but we have AT there.

I don't know if it's bc Diggs is a diva and demands more attention, but Davis has fallen off a cliff this part of the season. No thanks on him.

    • Oh good lord Interest doesn't mean interest in making a bad trade to take the player, that's why I had such a long post, to accurately describe why those are two different things, but you don't like to listen to that stuff.  Being interested in a player doesn't live in a vacuum. It's very simple... there isn't a #1 draft pick type of grade on any of these QB's, if there was, we'd just take them.  You can't bluff a pick everyone knows you won't make, and trying to trade the pick is the CLEAR signal that you're not taking the QB. Just because the Raiders would have interest, doesn't mean they're going to bail us out of a situation we don't want to be in, they'd be smart about it and just sit put, let us take a non QB as we'd be telling the world we're not taking one just by trying to trade the pick, and then they'd take him at #2 (either with their own pick or by trading less to get that one). Oh, and your point of "if nobody is willing to make the trade, you obviously just take the best QB" is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever read on here. If nobody is willing to trade up to take the QB, then it's OBVIOUS that the QB isn't worth taking with that pick, so OBVIOUSLY taking the best QB there is just OBVIOUSLY stupid and a bad pick. The moral of it is if there is a QB worth taking, we're taking them and not making the trade.  If there isn't a QB worth taking there, nobody is trading up to #1 to take one, we just showed the NFL how bad of an idea that is 2 years ago, it's really not hard to see. You keep making up this mythical situation where there is a QB who has shown to be worth trading up to #1 for and we'll be able to leverage that into a trade.  But we're the most QB needy team in the league, if we end up with the #1 pick, either we are taking a QB #1 or no QB is going #1 unless we get VERY lucky and two teams in the Top 5 fall in love with one prospect and we can play them off each other and fleece one of them. But again, I can't see that happening, as if there was a QB worthy of that, we're just taking him ourselves.
    • Sanders is with Tom Brady brand and that's his mentor. The Raiders owner was with Sanders taking pics at a Vegas game together.   It doesn't take much to connect the dots that Vegas will be interested in Sanders as their franchise QB. Oh yeah and guess who hasa small ownership stake in the Raiders Tom Brady.   I guess this is just another made up Madden idea by me huh?
    • Bro I don't mind debating you, but did you really have to write all that to get your point across.   This isn't Madden. If you have the #1 pick you literally control your own destiny. If nobody wants to trade which I have a hard time believing they won't then you obviously take the best QB.   I think we will have suitors. If that's Madden then so be it.
