Everette Brown will have more sacks than Pepp in 2010...

Bank on it.

No, he is not as physically gifted as Pepp, but he has much more heart and motor. This is a HUGE motivation for him this offseason.

I believe as you do.

Brown will make everyone forget who Peppers is. He might not be as flashy but he will have an impact.

I have also read where they say he is poor against the run. I remember at one time they used to run right at Peppers. He will improve. This guy will validate our trade for him last year. Bank on it.

Go Panthers

You mean an undersized defensive end who relies more on speed and technique will flourish in a Ron Meeks' run scheme that he has had one year's worth of learning under while a five time pro bowler who will have to learn a new scheme and team mentality entirely, not to mention possibly a new posistion, will not?

Nope. Not gonna disagree.

Im with ya man.

sure pep has the size and speed, but its still failed him in the past.

sucks hes going, would have been amazing watching him on one side and brown/johnson tearing it up on the other side.

but brown has the heart and the system seems right, hes going to be noticably bigger with a full off season of NFL training.

Pep = 8 sacks brown = 11 sacks johnson = 10 sacks

I don't really care whether Peppers or Brown gets more sacks than the other. I do care about how effective the pass rush is for the Panthers. If we get 40 sacks next year honestly I don't care who records them. The system should always trump individual players since injury is a real part of the game. Pieces need to be interchangeable.

This is a classic post if I ever saw one.

I take it you exclude QB.

This will be Johnsons 3rd year Brown's 2nd. Brown has already passed Johnson. Zod is right Brown will explode this year.

It will be Johnson's 4th year. He's looked good in both run and pass defense. I'm thinking Brown gets more play but still only a situational guy....unless Brayton goes.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
