Think I took a week but I was ready to go back to work to get some peace and quiet about 3-4 days in.

I would have taken two weeks if I had the vacay time but I didn't.

That first day back was weird for me. I was real upset to be away from the little guy but very relieved at how peaceful things were at work. weird

They sleep 90% of the time and I don't have tits to feed them with so its not like I missed much.

One week vacation. Its impossible to maintain any semblance of a regular schedule in that first week so work is a bad idea anyway.

I think no matter the industry, give the guy at least 5 days. Sure there is only so much he can do but being there for the woman and seeing the kid those first few days are valuable.

2 weeks, but staggered.

The first week, dunno why. Her mom and my mom were milling around so I ate Doritos, worked out a lot and generally got in the way.

Took the second week about a month in, gave the wife a nice break from the grind.

Move to Canada, The Saint. u get to share maternity leave with ure spouse. 6 months for u, 6 months for them.

1 month. I got paid for 2 weeks (negotiated deal) and I worked from home for 2 more. Mama-San works for the schools so she got 3 months off paid.

a couple of weeks but i was between jobs anyway. then i got to work from home for 2 months. awesome.

a week for both...but both times the MIL was around to help out, so I took more time off about a month later

When my oldest was born in 12/05, I got 8 weeks off at BofA. It is now 12 weeks. I must admit, it was awesome.
