Damione Lewis Cut!

I can buy into Peppers being worth $20 million a year a whole lot easier than I can Lewis being worth $5 million. Lewis should have never been the starter on that line anyway. And I'm glad that it doesn't look like he will be re-signing because I think that means that the Panthers are already looking at an upgrade. And I have a feeling that person isn't already on the roster, no proof, just a feeling.

I called this in my Mock Offseason.

I wish Damione Lewis best of luck, but we have solid depth at the position already. Plus I still think we need to draft a DT early in the draft, the DT class in the draft is too good to pass up.

I strongly suspect that we will be looking for a 1-technique DT in the draft.

We have 2 NT already in Kemo and Louis Leonard. If we resign Thomas we will have 3. What we really need is a 300+ 3 technique DT. Jenkins was the last one we had that really fit in that role.

Met Lewis at a Charity paintball game put on by DeAngelo Williams back in 2008, (bent my tailgate out of place on my truck when he sat on it for a min.lol) he didn't strike me as being as good as some think, he was so winded after one 15 min round that he barely moved in that he pulled out of the rest of the game.

Hence why he's fine on short rotations but not good as the man, I think his wieght is too much for him IMO

I agree. Seems like Meeks is trimming the Fat. The Panthers have signed a whole bunch of DTs so they might be what Meeks wants and Lewis is not. Or he could have just cost too much.

What are you talking about? Duke Robinson is an OG.

I thought maybe they were gonna try him out on the defensive side of the ball. I actually remember a thread where someone even suggested that.

Maybe Kemo is doing better than we think.

I really hope Kemo gets back but I think he will be on PUP to start Training camp. Leonard seems to be high on Meeks list and I really think Thomas could play another year or two if we let him.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
