Honestly, this guys job was to get touchbacks. If thats all your paid to do and can only do it maybe 50% of the time, you dont deserve that job or more importantly that roster spot.

He did his job well. But when your coverage sucks you can sometimes forget that..

Agree, was not impressed with his ability to boom kicks consistently.

It was still better than what Kasay would've done. Here's hoping we draft or sign someone else. I love Kasay for FGs but the dude's leg its showing its age.

Unless he can get a touchback 75% of the time or learn to kick field goals, he is a waste of a roster spot.

The only way that was going to happen was for him to kick it out of the end zone. Teams learned real quick to return all kicks no matter where they were caught at. The coverage team was so terrible Llyod had no chance to get touchbacks. I've never seen teams return balls kicked deep into the end zone compared to last year.

:iagree:

But, on the other hand, he used to be able to kick them out of the end zone for an automatic touchback.

Not so much lately..

Really if you ask me Jason Baker was not really worth the money last year ether. He cant be used on Kick off because of a weak leg and all he did last year was put balls in the end zone..... Now thats a wast of a spot.

    • We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
    • I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther.  Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt.  It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three.  ESPN is garbage anyhow.
    • Bingo!  We are on the same page.  Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders.  Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place.  One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced.    Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL.  Why?  RAS score, pure and simple.  If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
