If and When Jake signs with someone else

Recommended Posts

Actually whatever the new team signs him for will be deducted from what we owe him. So if he goes to the Bills for 1.5 million, we only owe Jake 10.5 million. Oh first post. Hi everyone.
Wrong. He is a player, not a coach. Guaranteed money is, by definition, guaranteed.

I just watched this on NFL network. He gets the money either way, but we aren't responsible for paying all of it if he's signed by someone else. Take it up with the boys behind the desk on Total Access. They said it.

Steve Lombardi (an ex-GM) on the NFLN said Delhomme gets to keep the 12 million + whatever his new team pays him.

Actually, yesterday when they were going over all the FA happenings, I heard Lombardi say that he doesn't really understand why we let him go since we'll have to pay him so much anyway. He then added that "even though they'll get whatever the new team signs him for credited back to them", it's still too much money to pay someone not to play.

    • I agree the free agent class is thin but with all the draft capital Tulsky has I expect some big trades as well
    • I mean we haven't had a winning season in going on 8 years we have had the worst win percentage in all of sports the last few years and we spent most of last summer arguing with each other on whether to be hyped or cautiously optimistic. To the point he was trying to moderate the discourse all throughout training camp. The staff then decided to hold the starters out of preseason until the very end and we started off the season with two of the ugliest losses in franchise history. Yet apparently in his mind the problem is....the fans who are justifiably apprehensive to buy the hype again before seeing some consistency in actual games? I don't see anything remotely unreasonable about it and it certainly doesn't make anyone any less of a fan or inferior to someone else unless that someone is mentally ill.
