Maybe Moore NOT starter (per Gantt, per sources)

seneca wallace is now a brown, so maybe one of the qb's from the cleveland stable is going to be shipped out of town. i am a moore backer and want him to start. he still needs another wr to help make his and smitty's life easier, but a veteran backup would make me feel better.

I love Moore, and he should be the starter, but making him the veteran by default is the worst thing for him at this point in his career. He needs someone to learn from; not him being in the teaching role for a bunch of rookies, AND starting for the first time.

That's what I am thinking too... I think we are going to make a play for either Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn and if I was the Panthers, Brady Quinn seems to have more upside

But can Brady Quinn throw the ball more than 20 yards?

I could see Tyler Thigpen being the pick.

Brady Quinn or Tyler Thigpen. The only other option would be Matt Lienarht if the Cards were to draft a QB high in the draft and pretty much end the Lienarht era in Arizona before it even began. I think they have showed that they will not pay an older vet the money that the vet min requires.

You bet me to it SCpanther22!

I don't know.. I just think that with Davidson as our offensive coord. and Scherer as our QB coach, it makes sense that they would make a play for either Quinn or Anderson.

As for Thigpen, the article did say that we have shown interest in him.. .So we'll see

there is a few things that is going to hold them back in finding competition and that is $$.

they don't want to spend it. are you going to find a serious contender for the job to compete with moore for a 1 year gig and only $2mil?

not only that you have to remember that the panthers are on the youth movement jag at the moment. that means under 30.

also, it will have to be someone that doesn't require giving up a draft pick.

that leaves of the available players....

Okay, I still think you're all missing the point. Let me ask this another way:

Matt Moore throws a bad interception. He trudges defeatedly to the sideline where ___________ offers Matt encouragement and points out a subtlety in the coverage that he has seen hundreds of times and gives him a suggestion on how to counter it.

Who would you fill in the blank with? Do you really think it's Tyler Thigpen or Brady Quinn?

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
