Vasher out in Chicago

Possible kick return specialist??? I think it would be an upgrade and the organization could definitely afford to sign him for a year or two.

I agree. Hell he used to be a decent corner too and could definitely fill in Dante Wesleys role nicely

Edit: I meant as a fourth corner, we got a gunner the other day from San Fran

Double Edit: If Marshall goes, he would then be a very good fit

He's not nearly as good as what he use to be but I'd take him for a 2 year cheap deal just for depth and STs.

Yeah, it's true his production has declined the last three years in the league(but to be fair his decline started when he missed 10 games in '07 after "injuring" his groin...OUCH)

Maybe a short-term contract with the Panthers is what he needs to revive his career.

he'd be a real project and he'd have to come cheap. seems like in addition to the frequent injuries he has some issues to work through.

Vasher was considered the team's longterm solution at cornerback when he was signed to a five-year contract extension before the 2007 season. His play declined soon after signing the deal, which a source close to the former Pro Bowl performer attributed to a "lack of confidence." Another team source said Vasher, who has 19 career interceptions, but had no more than one in any of the past three seasons, was suffering from a lack of "aggressiveness." link

Less than 24 hours after signing veteran cornerback Tim Jennings to a two-year contract, the Bears bid goodbye Wednesday to the player coach Lovie Smith dubbed "The Interceptor" when he burst onto the scene with 13 interceptions in his first two seasons.

The former fourth-round draft pick from Texas became a starter midway through his rookie season in 2004 and was a Pro Bowler the next year when he made a team-high eight interceptions for one of the best defenses in the NFL. But after the 2006 Super Bowl season, Vasher's play dipped dramatically. Not before the popular teammate had cashed in with a $28 million, five-year extension.

Vasher, 28, earned the bulk of that money in 2007 and 2008 when injuries limited him to only 12 games. A groin muscle tear in 2007 in Week 3 vs. Dallas ruined that season. He required wrist surgery the next season. Vasher had bulked up to play the run better and lost some of his quickness. Later, he lost his confidence. link

    • Hornets lead down to 16 early in the third.   Derrick White is single handedly keeping the Celtics in this game.
    • Looks like Miller is definitely grabbing his wrist out there.
