Burns to Detroit?

I think this makes great sense for both sides. Not sure Burns is worth Jameson and a 1st. I think Jameson and a 2nd would be fair compensation. A future 1st could be in play though.

If we could get an additional pick this year and a 1st next year.  I would jump at it.  While the Lions will probably be in the playoffs next year making that pick a low first rounder.  It would give us bargaining power if we needed to move up in the first round for an impact player.

That's a Madden trade. No one is biting on that in the real world, unfortunately.

What drugs are you assuming they are doing in Detroit?

I actually think the Detroit side of it is very reasonable now due to the unexpected cap increase, however the same cap increase means the flipping of the pick for one of those 2 WRs is less likely to happen.

This board is much higher on Jameson than actual Lions fans are, they still like his potential, but they're much closer to giving up on him than expecting him to be a future star.  I'm from Detroit and most of my Lions friends still talk about that as a possibility, mainly because they don't think Jameson has the hands to become a great WR and is mostly going to end up as a speed/gadget type of player.

2 weeks ago they'd have been less likely to make the move as signing Burns would have been difficult, but the unexpected cap room makes it much more doable for them now.

However that same cap increase is also why the 49ers and Bengals are more likely to try and keep their WRs for one more year as each player's contract isn't far off from the unexpected cap increase amount, so they have a path to keeping those players for another season before needing to move them.

Sure but there is a difference between fan feelings and how a front office feels.

    • I never needed stats to tell me how a player is doing. I watch every snap and if they have more bad plays than good plays that is all I need to see. Young has more bad than he has good, by a wide margin.  He was going to need to overcome an overwhelming size disadvantage coming into the league. He had to lead a dysfunctional, talentless team and turn it around. He had no chance and somehow the FO overlooked all of that. The fact that the odds of it being remotely successful were 1000:1 is all the reason you need. Tepper made his fortune taking gambles like this but that is in finance, you don't do that in football.
    • Ty for posting this. People who have been paying attention can see Canales' fingerprints all over Bryce this season. Last season Bryce would be 15 yards deep at the top of his drop. This game he was a consistent 7-10 yards. The big takeaway for me is that DC seems to have simplified the game for Bryce. I noticed that BY9 only operated one half of the field. When the ball is on the outside hash (short side), his game is geared more to the boundary. Multiple patterns and deep outside shots. When the ball is placed on the inside hash (wide side), it's virtually all in-breaking or smoke routes and\or deep shots. Most of his over the middle passes are executed from a deep drop. I really do not think he can see the field. I think DC has tried to mitigate it as best he can, but there simply are physical limitations that cannot be ignored in this league. I do not think he can execute fully, DC's offense. I think DC is frustrated and damn near over the BY9 era.
    • If the other guy didn't try to have someone murdered, Xavier Legette would easily be the worst draft pick this franchise has ever spent on a WR.
