I can't recall the last time anyone mentioned the tank concept lol.

Hell, for some people that was/is the whole reason to let Bryce take the reins this season. The premise is that he will suck again, and that as a result we will be in the position to draft the best thing (QB) smoking in 2025.

Even if you don't expressly use the term, the meat and potatoes are still the same.

What I'm saying is that's decidedly lame sarcasm...

You know. You could just admit you  mistakenly barreled into a convo making an incorrect assumption about my familiarity with csx.

But your input is appreciated all the same as always top dawg 🫶

Yeah ok in a roundabout way I recall seeing posts along those lines. It hasn't been a tank for "X QB" theme though. More like we'll probably suck and try again mindset. From a reality tv standpoint, I would personally enjoy inviting the Sanders to the Panthers to see what a train wreck that would be. Deion vs Tepper lol. I also like Shedeur as an alpha type dawg

I'd welcome Shedeur Sanders here in a heartbeat over the milquetoastery we've been subjected to the last 4 years.

As a bonus he would rustle some jimmies here amongst this fanbsse for sure.

I’m high on Sanders too in next draft. I want to see how he does with better OL play.

I guess we would then have to define what sucking is for 2024.  Less than 6 wins?

Dude, come on. A couple of clicks and anyone can see specifically how long someone has been a member of the forum, minus the time before the hack of course. But, if you feel a little better thinking that I carelessly made a hasty mistake, then I feel happy for you.

Yep, I was going to specifically bring up Shedeur, because I have seen that very line of thought somewhere on here weeks ago.

For the record, I don't believe that Sanders is a legit first round talent, and I'd much rather take my chances with Penix or even Rattler.

I think it all depends on how badly 2024 goes in relation to the offense. We're going to be able to discern by midseason whether any offensive inadequacies are due to talent level scheme playcalling or the QB just not being able to get it done.

But that kind of a bold move with Tepper at the helm seems like a pipe dream most likely. He seems to have a clear preference for the type of personality he wants to be the face of "his" franchise. For me I'd rather have someone who is confident and vocal rather than quiet and tepid. Seeing how quickly he kicked Cam Newton to the curb when he started getting loud with the team publicly tells us all that needs to be known in confirmation of this.

Yeah we would, but that's for each person to decide I guess. It's their theory.

For me, a certain amount of whether we should keep Bryce or not will be how he looks whether we win or lose. If he looks competent and growth is apparent, complete with good decision-making and processing, then I can see why we'd keep him. If he looks like the SOB (same ol' Bryce) by October---and I may not even last that long---then I am going to be looking towards the future amid varying degrees of despondency.

Id take 6 wins with bryce progressing and call it a season.  4 wins and still struggling to score would be a problem

    • For me to judge I look at it by group: QB - Improved most likely RB - Improved most likely (rookie upside) WR - Greatly improved (rookie upside) TE - Improved most likely (rookie upside) OL - Greatly improved DL - Slight downgrade (maybe?  Robinson + Wonnum + Clowney < Burns???  Could be equal or better) LB - Slight downgrade (different players - rookie upside) CB - Slight downgrade (rookie upside) S - Push Coaching - Greatly improved To me I expect us to be significantly better overall - but significant over last year means 5-6 wins.
