Wish we had gotten Fred rest for game 4 of the first round series, and gotten Pyotr in for a lower pressure situation.  At this point because of 2OT Fred has to get rest, but I don't love going to him only when forced.

Win at home and give ourselves another chance to steal a roadie.  We're in this until we're not. Let's fudgin go CANES

It's playoff numbers in years past have been awful.... that said Pyotr has never played in a home playoff game.... this is quite literally a do or die situation.... we are done if we lose (I don't care if we technically still need to lose 1 more)

That said i have a feeling that PK on home ice with last change in front of us is gonna come up huge tonight.

If we can win tonight in a convincing manner it very well make spark the team.

I would go this as my lineup.

gutz Aho Jarvy

necas Kuzy Svech

maartnook Staal Noesen

KK Drury Lemuix

Same defense unless pesce comes back

koochie

Full send on the JAG line, we need that line out there, being feared and gameplay panned against. Not us playing their game.

it's not that i disagree with this sentiment as much as objectively i think Svechnikov has been our best all around player in the playoffs altogether

It might sound crazy but I think this is a very different series if.... Jesper Fast was healthy.....

Rod has relegated Jarvis to Staals line greatly weakening line 1....

Hopefully we can stop hitting shots into Igor's chest tonight...

Wow that's soooo insightful..... you show up every post season to make nothing but negative comments.

I'd prefer we fire away and have guys netfront for rebounds and redirects....

Fast being hurt definitely hurts the strength of our top D forward line.

Jarvis-Aho-Guentzel

Necas-Drury-Svech

Marty-Staal-Fast

TT-Kuzy-Noesen

The only problem is figuring the odd man out between Necas, Svech, and TT for the 2nd line (unless we wanted to go Necas at C and move Drury to the 4th line). I like the way Necas has looked in the series more than TT so I will go Necas on line 2.

I literally have no idea who you are, but when we stop hitting shots in Goalie's chests then I will.

And actually having an open lane and a net front presence will help with the deflections. We have rarely had both happen at the same time on shot attempts

If he's not gonna have Jarvis on line one the only other place that 100% makes sense would be at 2C he's gotten very good at faceoffs he's a natural center and he's dynamic.... 2C is the biggest roster weakness..

Oh that's a long list.....

But I take it back I like the way you think pre game....

Tonight is for the season if they come out with the goalie change and play the way we know they can we have a shot, I just hope PK keeps ahold of his stick.

    • Really? You don't see why a team can't draft a QB in the 1st round while then starting their former #1 overall pick over them while on the last year of their deal? It puts the team in a TERRIBLE place no matter how the season goes.  If Bryce sucks, you have to answer questions as to why he was still on the team to begin with, let alone starting over the rookie.  If he's good, then you run into the situation the Vikings were in last offseason with sticking with the rookie contract or the the guy who just performed instead of said young QB. It's one thing when teams keep a vet around as a bridge QB, it's something entirely different when that QB is still only in their mid 20's and was taken #1 overall by that team.   That just doesn't happen and not sure it ever has in NFL history before.
    • What is the alternative? - BY, will not play for less then his perceived contract (just like Cam Newton did). So you pay him top of market as befitting a 1st round, Heisman winning, playing birthing QB would get. Or you cut him. - Then we are forced to either sign a stop gap QB / previously failed QB and try to fix him or you spend a 1st round pick and draft a guy, basically resetting the team.  The reality is that we all want a top 5 QB. The problem is there are only 5 of those guys in the world and drafting, even #1 overall doesn't guarantee that.  The other problem is the NFL market. Young QB get paid. Even an average, young QB gets top of market deals. I know a lot of people here think we could sign him to an 'average QB contract' but thats not reality. Didnt happen with Cam wont happen with BY.  So we could let this season flush out and he is again a middling QB. But then we cut and restart or accept it is what it is (including compensation) and build a team around what we have.  My money is on the latter.
